I have a pair of Denim and co. pants that I have had for years and the smell is still there.  I wash in cold water and hang all cloths outside, for lack of a dryer, it's the way the material is processed and it never comes out.  Now when if I get a something else with that "aroma" I send it back saying why. If I can smell it other people can to.
