I have been wondering who eats all that delicious food on those gourmet food shows. I certainly hope it goes to local charities, homeless shelters, food kitchens. the Red Cross, nursing homes, fire houses, womens' shelters and FEMA.

They feed it to the warehouse "mouser".....

The crew probably eats a small portion but most of it, have sat out under hot lights for hours, is unfit for human consumption. There is a liability issue so they don't risk giving what might be tainted to the public.

Much of it should be ok for consumption. But very good point. Thank you.

I've never understood why they have to put out so much food samples only to be thrown out....just put out what's needed for demonstration.

I assume the people asking this question have never worked in an office. Every office I've ever worked at, when someone puts out food in the breakroom, it's like locusts decend on it.

I bet all the behind the scenes people...the camera operators, the stage hands, the wardrobe and makeup people, the janitorial staff, the secretaries, production people and the mailman get free eats on cooking show days..
That is...the stuff that is still edible. Like someone mentioned here...the food that sits under hot studio lights probably isn't eaten, but stuff that's grilled or blended or boiled or prepared right on set in real time goes to the many people behind the scenes...after all ...MOST non-TSV presentations are ten minutes or less....
And you just KNOW they aren't going to throw out any of those burgers from "special magical cows" and chicken breasts from religiously raised chickens that were grilled on set ( yesterday's TSV....6.5 pounds of "meats", like you can buy at any Wegmans for a fraction of the price, for the QVC price of $21.38 a pound!!!
SHeeesh!!!!...No inflation here!!!)

Why do they advertise free shipping on food when it''s clearly included in the price? That's very annoying and misleading.

To distract people from doing math...which are hard....
Last week's TSV of special cow hamburgers and magically chilled chicken breasts came in at a measly $21.00+ per pound.....
And THIS week we have three bargain priced HALF chickens dusted with smoked paprika, for only 100.00!!!
But it IS free shipping..so there's that!!!
