Re: Fashions for "mature" women

I would like to see a more natural fabrics.

I won't wear polyester, no matter what cutsie name SG or others give it. It's still cheap polyester. I think it's like wearing a plastic bag.

I haven't bought any clothes from Q in 6-7 years. In addition to polyester, I don't like so much spandex, gawdy prints, horizontal stripes, fluffs, ruffles, and stereotypical old lady clothes. I may be old but I'm not dead.

I can easily find more natural fabrics and quality clothes elsewhere for less than Q prices.

I see very little, if anything right now on Q that appeals to me. I don't think anyone is looking for "old lady clothes" I think the word "updated" is what we would like to see.....not trendy or young.

No ruffles or puffy sleeves. No tunics.

If only the mauve and antique rose....could be replaced with some happier colors...not neon or garish, but some bright, non-depressing colors.
Black-and-white patterns are always good and have seen a few on Q.

Isaac does the best with colors IMO.

Because I am 70 does not mean I have to wear pastels.  I look like a cadaver in pastels, so would love to see some rich colors in tops.  I think all ages can wear happy colors.

ITA ... I look best in "jewel tones".

Ruby red, sapphire blue, emerald green ... and my fave ... Turquoise.

Same here.  Other than basic black, white, navy & taupe, I like jewel tones too.  I can't stand pastels!

Did you know he has a blog?

In the "Ask Louis" he talks about QVC.

Re: Fashions for "mature" women

I came here looking for some summer tops. Most that I have seen have sleeves that go to the elbow. I can understand selling some of those but when you cannot find a decent t shirt that is a problem. Most of the sleeveless tops that I find the reviews are terrible on. Armholes that are too big! What is wrong here? I don’t want to order clothing (or anything for that matter) that is defective. Shopping online should be a convenience not such a hassle. There are not even any consistent sizers anymore.

[ Edited ]

I’ll pass on the Mature look. Some QVC clothing lines remind me of my grandmother and that is not the look I wear. I’m 67 and like my clothes more form fitting, v-necks, skinny jeans, skirts and dresses above the knee (except for my maxis), high heels. Why start to look old when you aren’t in either body or mind.

this reminds me of how my granparents dressed; they were living in the midwest during the 30's, 40's, 50's, etc. Brings back a lot of memories.

Can you imagine any of these women in jeans and at-shirt?

I would like to see more fashions for older women.  I am nearly 70 and all the frills, flutter sleeves, rufflles, tiers, are not for me.  How about more tailored styles like Linea?  I sure do miss his line!

I'm with you. I stopped buying clothes from Q because of so much polyester, spandex, ruffles, tiers, gawdy prints, and such.

I'm a simple dresser and prefer natural fabrics. I can easily find clothes I like from other retailers for less money than Q charges for cheap polyester. I rely on promo codes which are very good after one signs up.
