Most people know exactly why a thread or comment is removed.  They may not like it but that isn't the same as not knowing why.

These boards have been this way for many years. And every once in awhile a thread is started, like the one this OP started in Among Friends, and people lament about the downfall of the boards, the over moderation and the fact that not as many people are participating.

These boards used to be a free for all.  Anything and everything went.  People didn't like it.  There are other boards if this doesn't suit someone. 

I find it rather nervey, for lack of a better term, for someone to start a thread suggesting that the moderators loosen up with their moderation. 

For me personally, I think a good start to making the boards a better place would be for some to refrain from starting a thread on a regular basis complaining about every little thing.
