IMHO This is the internet. Bullying is everywhere. Yes it is wrong for some of the nasty ugly comments that are made here, but I like others feel that the Mods do a great job keeping these boards under control. It seems to me that there are always going to be mean and hurtful people on any site. I do think some people get a high out of bashing others. Makes me wonder what have they accomplished in their lives? I think anyone with half of a brain that picks on peoples hair, clothes, how they talk etc. need a hobby. I don't think QVC set these boards up so people can sit here bashing not only the hosts, but everything about QVC. If it is that boring then watch something else and find a hobby that is productive.
Sorry I had to vent. Yes I have even seen posters bashed for no good reason. The holidays are coming, let's be thankful for what we have. Let's try to be nicer and ignore the people that want to bash bash bash.
I have to say that I have met more nice people here then bad. The Mods go out of their way to help us when there is a problem. I like everyone am not talking about suggesting something, we have a right to do that. Suggestions and Bashing are two different things.

I don't know if I'd call it excessive but the constant drip drip drip of posts criticizing hosts for minor and inconsequential things is becoming annoying. I don't even understand it. It seems like there's a sad little group of posters who spend their days watching for things and then they spend time crafting a post to complain about something that no one notices and no one cares about. Omg! A host said sale instead of sales!!!! It's the end of the world!!! I suppose they get some type of satisfaction out of the 3 or 4 positive responses they get. I suppose that adds value to their lives. They'd probably be happier if they just skipped by QVC and started watching some entertainment tv stations.

My personal opinion is that half of it is from posters who are just 100% negative in their life, period. They post to “one-up” others, to be The First to report any kind of bad news, diaster, death, dip in stock market rating - any bad news of any kind makes their day because they can run to the forums and report it. It makes them feel important. I don’t care what excuse they give, the honest reason is that it gets people to pay attention to them and makes them feel important; end of story.
The other half is just plain, garden variety trolling and pot-stirring from people who post anything and everything they think will fire people up and cause a forum “riot.” People who will go into the Pets forum and type “I kick puppies”. People who will deliberately say the exact opposite of what most people feel, carefully crafted to outrage or disgust people and get them angry. They don’t actually believe or care about the topic, they’ve just introduced it to troll. And boy, are they fed here! Fed by the clueless, their own alter egos, and by fellow trollers anxious to help them out.
If the latter group was eliminated, the former would not be as bothersome to most, IMO. But the moderators are clearly constrained by QVC from doing anything but look at individual posts, and are rarely able to ban someone, even though I’m sure they know who is doing what. I think some mods would love to, others wouldn’t care - but regardless, only they and QVC know why the “individual posts only” tack has been taken.

i see this as a very simple issue.
lack of tolerance.
not accepting differences. only thinking all should be as they want. for every complaint they have about a host, there is someone that likes it. they do not see this.
the host talks too fast , some like the host talking fast
the host has ugly hair, some like the hair style.
the host is self absorbent, some like the personal impact of this style of selling.
the hosts sweater is not flattering, some like the sweater and want to know where they can buy it.
the host talks about her dogs, some like her bringing her dogs into the presentation.

I agree. Host bashing is boring. I am happy to let QVC deal with their personnel issues. I like to hear about the products. This forum has saved me a lot of money as well as turning me on to great products. I personally like to hear Forum participants opinions of the products I am interested in.

@TX-starlight wrote:@jlkz I completely agree. Hosts & QVC should take some of the negative to see what they can improve. If you post anything negative on a hosts page, all it gets you is blocked from posting. Constructive criticism can help a host or company improve.
You do understand that quite a few posters on these forums think “Host X looks like a fat ugly sausage in that sweater” is constructive criticism and see nothing wrong with it?
COME ON---thats not constructive anyone with common sense should know that...and that comment should definitely be deleted as a violation. Now if they said Host X is wearing their clothes too tight and it's not an enticement to make a sale, that's a constructive comment....

@cookie16 wrote:I agree with you. I don't understand the need to post anything so negative or nasty but I guess when anonimity comes into play, it is ok. No it is not. The saying about the apple falling far from the tree comes to my mind. I have an idea that the children of these adults do exactly the same to their peers. Of course they won't admit it. If your not happy with the hosts or anyone else, for that matter, move on, click off the show, and go take a nice walk outdoors. Your post will be deleted anyway.
So why do companies from doctor offices to grocery and department stores, to restaurants to telephone and internet providers want feedback from customers.....Its not all about happy little talk and everything is beautiful companies want to deal in REALITY and what customers really think!

@Tuppermore wrote:If I don't care for a host or vendor, there is always online shopping. I find the reviews more helpful than comments from vendors who obviously like their products or hosts that are paid to sell a product.
Through the years, I have found that a host that I'm not fond of usually is gone after a while. So I'm sure that QVC pays attention to how much is sold during a show. QVC cares about their ratings since that is where they make money.
I find the remote control very easy to use. That is much kinder that all of the negative comments that are posted. Just because you have an opinion, doesn't mean that you have to share it. There are much more constructive ways to make a point. The moderators remove comments that are mean. So what is really accomplished with personal, mean, rude comments?
And how about this....you dont have to read threads that arent postive about hosts...how bout that !

How do you know someone is trying their best unless there is feedback given critiquing job performance....................some of the hosts seem downright bored with their job....

I don't have a problem with constructive criticism if it relates to how the host presents the product, information not given and the like. We all like different host and that's understandable. But, when it gets mean and personal about their hair, makeup I move on. I don't care about their hair, makeup just give me the pertinent information and slow down so I can understand. The product has to sell itself to me, no need for the hard sell tactics and the fast talk. In their job, I hope they are pretty thick skinned about what customers and viewers are saying because they are trying to separate us from our money.
