@Kachina624. Streamers, including Amazon and Paramount are losing money. It is why Amazon is no longer commercial free and Paramount is losing billions.

The basics of selling hasn't changed over the ages. Hosts are supposed to be salesmen hawking items Q is instead trying to entertain and failing at it which will lead to fewer sales.

@Northerngal  Paramount is indeed losing billions, but that loss is primarily because of the loss of traditional television.  They took a $5.98 billion hit on their cable networks.

However, their streaming division reported its first ever profit of $26 million, a stark contrast to the same quarter last year financials.  It's the massive decrease in its regular cable TV, not its streaming division that saw the losses.

Viewership ( not in person) of last year's USA Championship was nearly 2.5 million.  As with all major sporting events, those in physical attendance are not the primary market.

Considering that QXH has about 9 million real customers ( those actually making a purchase), capturing the eyes of a small percentage of Championship viewers will be significant.

Keep it up QVC and Qurate!  Let's Pickleball!

It will be interesting to know how many watched on tv (and even that won't tell how many customers QVC may have gottenout of it) because the stands were basically empty. There was no interest in attending that event live. Maybe they should have given free tickets to people walking by outside of the venue?

Re: Entertainment & Pickleball

I missed the boat on pickleball.  It seems to be all the rage!  But, no, for me.  I'll stick to walking/biking/jogging.  But I must say, I see and hear about pickleball everywhere now!

P.S. When I see pickleball on QVC, I always think of Jayne Brown. I think she is an avid fan of the sport.  I just love her as a host!  She is such a pro with product and such a funny lady too!  Heart
