Don't be ashamed of your fabric -

If it's poly, say it's poly instead of trying to fool people. Maybe it's b/c it should be the "cheapest" fabric, but you want the cheapest fabric to bring in the highest prices.

Vendors & representatives are only too happy to happily claim cotton, modal, rayon, nylon, lyacel. They don't care to tell the percentage of the blend. They would rather you buy the mystery fabric.

When asked about the fabric, don't tell us how wonderful, how soft like butter, how easy to care for. That's not the fabric....

Barefoot Dreams is the most offender. It's too much to ask for their "Luxury" product at high prices to say poly!

@febe1

I feel the same way about 'slub knit', just be honest about it being tissue thin, instead of raving about how 'cool' the fabric is.

I prefer clothing that can last a little while, not disposable clothing. It's 'cool' because it almost doesn't exist.

I steer clear of Barefoot Dreams too.

I don't mind wearing polyester in the cold winter months. It helps retain heat and is good for layering to help stay warm. But during the hot summertime, I prefer cotton or some type of rayon (modal, lyocell or viscose).

I would never buy anything without knowing what the fabric is.....ever.

I do not buy poly  (plastic) clothing.  I wish they would stop manufacturing this junk.  It's ruining our earth and our health. It is really bad stuff.

@KingstonMom.  Slub knit is not a fabric content, it's a weave like denim is a weave.  It can be any weight.  The original was rough, heavy homespun so it can be any weight.  They're just making the cheap stuff.

As soon as people stop buying the garbage the sooner we can get back to cotton.

I was trying to find DH some new ankle socks. Nobody wants sock made from poly or nylon. I finally found some Gold Toe brand made from 80% cotton, 19% nylon & 1%.

@febe1 The item description will state the fabric content.

I am actually one of those that want to know how "soft" the item is and the weight. I much prefer light and soft. You can have the exact same fabric content on one item that is scratchy while another, containing the same percentage, can be soft.

If I am truly interested in an item I always go online and check out everything in the item description as well as the garment measurements. These are much more accurate than what a host will state. I also use the filter in the reviews and will look for the word "soft".

@febe1 COTTON is known as the snow of the south!     I love it and seek it out when making a purchase.
