I think they charge the outrageous shipping to off set the loss they have with returns. The stores that offer free shipping expect their merchandise returned with tags, and not laundered, or worn .QVC's policy is quite different shoes can go back after worn .clothing can be worn, washed and dried. Cosmetics use to the bottom of the jar. Food items refunded without returning the product. Somebody has to pay for that, and between their outrageous prices, and shipping charges we do.

Hi--here's an example of how the shipping cost per item gets ridiculous.  I just went to purchanse some of those Kringle express gift bags--they were $18 for 10 bags with 10 tags so not cheap to begin with.  When I added 3 to the cart, the shipping came to $16.50--that's crazy!  I mean $5.50 to ship a few gift bags?  That would be bad enough, but to charge that three separate times is insane.  Needless to say, I did not complete the purchase...I'll figure out another solution.

Sad to say, in this day and age of free shipping--sometimes overnight--QVC isn't going to continue to be competitive...
