Lately, QVC's cameras are being used to shoot hosts and programs from an oddly high viewpoint. It's perhaps 35 to 40 degrees above level.
Why so high? Perhaps the cameras should not go this high except for specific circumstances.
The high angles make the hosts and guests look out of proportion.
To anyone reading this, I am not saying that this happens ALL the time, just that it is happening more.

Maybe they're testing the drones.....(!) I don't care for the overhead shots, either.

i have noticed this too in recent months. I noticed the cameras are higher up looking down onto the host and the presentation/presenter. It's not at ground level looking straight at the host. Maybe someone in the TV or filmmaking industry could explain what effect this is supposed to have?

Frankly, I'm surprised all the hosts aren't objecting to this, considering it seems to make the womens' hips appear larger than they are. Very unflattering.
It also makes it harder to see the products, especially clothing.
And it takes the viewer way out of the experience, which I think is probably contrary to what QVC intends. There is a great loss of intimacy.

I agree with you. I think overhead shots are required on some of the cooking segments but for the majority of the other products the camera shots need to be closer. I watch a presentation to see the close up shots of the item especially if it's jewelry, clothing or shoes, etc. Afterall, isn't this the point of a live presentation? I've noticed on the fashion set that there is ususally one model wayyyyyy in the back of the set. Who can see that??? I can barely make out what color the tem is. QVC needs to rethink how they are programming the robotic cameras for their programs.

I noticed that too. Even the tallest models look stunted.

I can just imagine the powers that be saying "now the viewers want to be directors too!"
but, honestly, the angles are horrible, the models are wandering around aimlessly, the furniture is in the way, it does seem as if nobody knows what they are doing! Camera operators, directors, models, hosts....it is obvious if "WE" mention it. Get it together

I agree & the jewelry shows they often only give a short close up and then pull away. It's also annoying when they take a stupid phone call they quit showing the item all together and just show the host talking.

Fressa, I just noticed a model waayy in back! It was some boots I wanted A256037 in the video I couldn't see what color they were! This is really a bad idea. Did they hire some Hollywood producer who gave them these dumb angle ideas or what?

I like the angle they shoot the Liam shoe guy LOL
