The callers say things about the product that the hosts can't.
That's the only purpose of the calls.
For example, host is selling a humidifier, host can't say it will help your sinuses or you will have less colds or whatever. But a caller can.

Do you think that they really drive sales ? If they cut them out there would be more time to discuss the product, but if for some perverse reason they increase sales , I guess we will always have them. Do they bother anyone else ? For me they are right up there with political ads . LOL.

@software You made a valid point. Q is looking for the comments they are not allowed to say. What bothers me most is how these calls cheapen the words "I love you." The hosts cannot possibly love these callers unless they know them personally, yet many say "I love you too." I wish they would say "I appreciate you spending time with us" or something at least genuine. This may not bother others, but it does me.

I agree, cringeworthy! I either fast forward or change the channel if I'm watching it live. They seem pointless.

I usually change the channel or mute, but I have noticed they have seemed to cut down on the number of calls from years back

I agree and it cheapens the word & its meaning.
Plus it seems many, not all of the callers are desperate for attention from the host, which just feeds that insecurity.
While we're on the subject, I wish they would stop all the kissing & hugging.

I heard a few calls yesterday when they were showing the Harry London candy, and those people just sounded pathetic. Most were upset because there was no tin included with the candy.

This is such a good point. I feel that testimonials must drive sales. During the exchange between the host and the caller, so much praise is given, lots of opinions, then add to the mix a few facts and some love. By the time a viewer has heard all of that, it's all one big blur of positivity, and they're left thinking what an awesome product--I must have it!
I have never liked the testimonial calls.

Stop the calls. Often when the host asks the caller a question about the item, there is silence and the caller has nothing to say. I'm not interested in the opinion of these callers, nor am I interested in their stories (I'm sorry for some of their situations, but we all have a story).
Sometimes there are funny calls...such as the time Leah was talking to a woman and the caller ended up cursing (f word) to someone at her house and the words went out over the airways..hahaha. This was on YouTube.

It's one thing of the caller has a valid question, we all know customer service is never any real help with questions. I just don't know why anyone would even want to call in to sing the prasies of a product. Those calls they could do away with.

The opinions of the caller's mean nothing to me. Even the product "customer top rating" is not as useful to me as they used to be. In making my choices I read reviews to get info on fit, fabric, etc. A customer will give a 4 or 5 on an item that had problems and was returned but they praise the designer and past purchases. I have purchases that are over 10 years old and I wear them still but this same designer seems to have sizing issues. If I chose to write a review it is done on the exact item I purchased. I do not comment at that time about the designer. I do not buy for the name I buy what I like and think will look good on me. I have noticed lately that we are being given the models height and the size of the garment they have on. I appreciate getting this information. I have made note of the information for the models closest to my size. If they size up or down then I will need to also.
