Yes please! I completely agree. In fact I'll take it a step further and request a BETTER Ignore Button. One that can make the Original Topic Header by an Ignored Poster totally invisible as well.

To rephrase my comment, I never knew the ignore button existed in the Q forums. It's just seems to be easier to simply not respond to the poster. The new forums give you more latitude to visit and connect with new posters, old posters or form new friends.

I got the impression from the guidelines that the monitors would have an easier time intervening when threads got nasty or hijacked. We might see fewer nasty posts, and hence, less need for the ignore button. Time will tell.

As a new poster you probably are not aware how toxic some posters are. After seeing their posts, it is not always easy to simply move on and sit by silently.
Then there are the narcissists who make every thread about them. It is easier to ignore them.

The ignore button was a silent option for greater peace of mind.
It harmed no one and only helped the person who chose to use it.
I wish it would come back soon.

Ignore is an option that is very good to have, and while I can certainly work around not having The Ignore button, it would be very helpful to have it back.
It's just a way of cutting through posts by people who repeat their positions dozens of times on a thread, or who treat a thread as an excuse for an extended (20+ post) with some friend who has shown up. That stuff is annoying if one is reading in order to have a conversation.
It's not awful, just annoying, and Ignore is helpful.

Yes, Please.
It is really time saving to be able to ignore those who use the board as a place to post lists of their favorite vendor's products, those who have 'insider' conversations, etc.
Fine if it's how they choose to spend their time, I'd just rather not spend my time sorting through them.

I agree with both of your statements, particularly the second one.
