I have an old 7-carat marquis Diamonique tennis bracelet in 14kt gold.  Never had one compliment because the stones are glassy looking.  No sparkle at all and the stones are not that big.  But, when I wear a 2 carat 100 facet solitaire in 14kt gold, you can't tell the difference from real.  But, I have found QVC's clad jewelry, especially 14 kt or 18kt looks really fake.  I have been buying a few things from JTV and so far, have been pleased.  I also prefer a believable look, but it fun to wear a honker every now and then.
