Amazon is rumored to be developing a shopping network, to launch next year, which will allow a simpler way of ordering.  What is QVC doing to innovate?   Last night, I watched a Logo segment.  (And, for the record, I like Logo.)  Ten minutes before the end of the hour, they ran out of different items to sell.  I can't imagine why that should happen. I want MORE items, all colors displayed immediately (let the camera pan a board instead of going through items on a rack).  I want a faster pace.   I want touch screen ordering.  I want QVC programming to sell to the "savvy" me I have become in the current marketplace.  I am evolving in my shopping habits, Amazon is evolving.... and so should QVC.

I think storefronts are going to go by the wayside.  It should be interesting for QVC, HSN and Evine if Amazon joins in.  I'm sure it will be to our benefit - more competition!

Interesting points you bring up that are likely important to younger women who are not currently a big segment.  Interesting that they are now talking on air about their ownership of Zulily.

I agree with you, I have said before that having the models NOT  at the front in all the colors of the garment is a mistake when selling the garment.  A customer wants to see ALL the colors at the same time not just the one they are talking about.  The current method of having 1 model in the back where you can't see them and 1 in the back just makes no sense.

But this is decided by the same Mgt people who think having a model wear sunglasses in a studio lets the view see how to wear the garment outside

I feel the competition has really ramped up - QVC now offers many many more easy pays than they ever did - I think that was from listening to all of us.  I think itis good to tell them what we like and what we don't like.

The past couple of weeks I have gotten a 20% off email from HSN in my email.  I really appreciate this as it makes me think more about purchasing something I normally might pass on.  Would be nice if QVC would do this.  Plus more free shipping.

Re: Amazon is coming

[ Edited ]

I don't do much with Amazon right now, but if they bring a different kind of shopping show - something more sophisticated - especially with lots more kitchen shows sans dancing and food gobbling hosts, they will probably get my $$.  I tried to watch a "fashion show" this morning but with the two female hosts dancing a waltz (which neither obviously knew how to do) I was off to watch reruns of Unsolved Mysteries.  Will go to the local mall later for a couple of things I want.

There will be a lot of brand loyalty for QVC brands, so that should be worth something.

Amazon has just opened a B&M bookstore (Seattle, I think).

I'm eager to see what Amazon comes up with. I've done more than usual with them. I was looking for an Electric blanket & the Q offered Sunbeam. I compared it with Amazon, almost 20.00 cheaper & free S&H.

The Q goes along like they don't have competition. I see competition in my emails & snail mail daily offering all sorts of freebies for my business. I've never seen such competition for business. Except none from the Q. Guess they don't have to compete. Last I bought from the Q was a birthday present in October. Nothing special and now I wonder why I made that purchase and should have looked around.
