About presenting hair products ....

Hi. This is my first time posting on the forum. I enjoy watching all the presentations and I often learn new things as well. And I enjoy the hosts and their enthusiasm. However, there has been something that has bothered me a bit. I tune in a lot during hair care presentations. Two or three times now I have heard the same host make the same statement. The last time I heard it was I believe two days ago when she was presenting Keranique. The statement was " noone ever says I wish my hair was thinner."

I know this may sound trivial. And I'm also aware that thinning hair is a problem for many people. However, believe it or not, there are many people, like me, who spend time and money trying to find some hairstyle, haircut, hair product that will tame our thick, course, unruly hair. Who look at people with soft, smooth, thinner hair and are jealous that they can wash their hair and just go about their day when we have to spend so much time and energy doing so much to it to make it look nice. When I hear this woman joke about nobody ever saying make my hair thinner, I just shake my head at the TV and think ... Take my hair for a week lady.

I know you want to sell a product, but don't isolate an entire group of people with statements like these. There are so many different hair types that have different needs. Not everyone wants to add all this thickness, body and vavoom to their hair, just like not everyone wants their hair straight and smooth. I do understand Keranique is designed for people with thinning or thinner hair ... There's a need that it fills. But I've never heard anyone say " noone ever says I need to gain weight" while selling weight loss products.

I understand what you are saying. I truly do. Think, though, what a nighmare it would be to realize that you are balding. It's terribly destructive in so many ways. Thinning hair is also really heartbreaking.

I think the problem with the hosts is that they make these blanket statements, which they shouldn't, like "everyone looks good in these ______" But when they have to talk about 1 product for 20 minutes, I guess they have to say something!!!!
