Ok, I'll bite -  what's the macro feature?

I've just been using the drop down menu of @names when I'm responding.  What am I missing?   TIA  Millie

@millieshops

Hi millie...

mac·ro
[ˈmakrō]

NOUN
  1. computing
    a single instruction that expands automatically into a set of instructions to perform a particular task.

If you use a phrase often...say, for example, at the end of your post you more often than not type "Have a great day," instead of typing that all the time, you can store it in a macro and a few clicks will pull it up for you.

Click on your screen name at upper right, go to settings, click on macro tab.  Title the 1st macro HAGD (in first box...I think you can store up to 10 macros).  In second box (of the 1st macro) type "Have a great day."

Then, when you are on a thread and you click reply, you'll see a box to the right of the "quote" feature that reads "Macros."  Click there, see your title HAGD, click it and your previously typed Have a great day will show up in your post...This is exactly what I did...

Have a great day!

Re: ? About Macro feature

@millieshops

On Boehm's case, we were trying to see if we could use a macro for the @ feature (instead of just a phrase such as Have a great day).  If you have a group of friends you notify on a regular basis, a group so to speak,you can store them in a macro and never have to type them again.  This is nice if the people you want to notify are not in on the discussion and you can't remember how to spell their screen names LOL!

Have a great day!
