@lucymo, great idea, let's get a case of it!  And this will help us identify them by their actions:

Re: A feature to block posters from posting in your thread option

@Serenity-Now, there already are rules and standards in place on the QVC forums, but no guidelines will ever please everyone.

QVC already has trigger words that are ***'d out or do not post. They are based on profanity and racial epithets. But they have human moderators for the rest of it because we are all human. The moderators here do a mostly good job of deleting inappropriate posts, but sometimes they are short-staffed, sometimes no one reports a post, and finally, everyone's idea of what is hateful, mean, nasty, etc. is individual. WE do not decide, QVC decides - and I'm okay with that. I'd far rather they err on the side of laxity than cater to someone else's standards of what shouldn't be allowed.

In short, there *are* rules and they *are* being applied (though I do wish, like many others, that they would do something about the true troll situation).  But the bottom line is that QVC isn't going to deal with each individual's "I don't like that", they have a community "No-no" standard and that's it.

@Mz iMacYour post is a response, any response. So is this "do as I say, not as I do?"

@IMissSuperPoke, it's ok to leave the thread anytime you choose.  I certainly am, before any ugly posts start.  Or maybe they have, already.  I remove the troll's power by not sticking around to be an audience when they start their spewing.  I'm not interested in being their targer, especially when I don't deserve it.

I can't agree to the idea of keeping people you don't like out of the sandbox. That turns the forums into one big popularity clique and an echo chamber. It does not foster community or discussion.

I would much prefer the Ignore feature be returned. That still allows everyone to post, but means you don't have to see or read the posts from people you don't like.

The moderators. IF they kept information, made files and did further investigating when pointed in that direction by the many posters who speak up about them. But as of now it would certainly seem like the moderators have either been told "hands off" when it comes to trolls, or more likely they only ever look at the forum as individual posts and do not see/do not want to see the patterns that others see.

If QVC/the moderators chose to tackle the troll issue, and/or the related revolving nic issue, they could, with a little time and a little effort (not a lot of either). But for their own reasons they are not touching either.

Only if you're calling her, or the entire body of posters who responded within this thread (including yourself) trolls.
