A dollar a day and practically free

I am so tired of hearing the phrases ' it's less than a dollar a day' or 'it's practically free'. Those sales pitch are getting so old. I am also tired of hearing the words ' amazing amazing value', ' 'So sophisticated', or words that are repeated in the same sentence.

Re: A dollar a day and practically free

That and .............."EVERYONE is jumping on the phone lines and using easy pay"....I'm sure not everyone could jump on the phone at the same time nor have I ever used easy pay. Why not say "lots of people" "or our viewers" are on the phone lines ordering. And I do not need to know that 1000 people are on the lines....who cares if they are. If 1000 people are on the line, I bet you don't get one on one service. (I'm sure this is to initiate people jumping and running to make sure they get theirs)

I also don't need to hear the host say "this is the one I have in my kitchen or home" "this is the color I have or own" who cares what you have...I'll order the color I want. (Tara has a habit of doing this and telling us what color her mother collects, what color she collects, what color David collects....who cares) Guess this is the problem with having to fill space with words that have no meaning. Just because you are selling something doesn't mean you have to fill every second with trivial stuff.

Things they (host and vendor) say trying to SELL SELL SELL. Had QVC on in background and tITKWD Tara inferred her dish set was a factor in "reconnecting her family". Huh? Really, new dishes will bring a family together.

"One and done" used to bug the heck out of me, but now I would love to hear that phrase, then it would mean something NEW might actually be on the horizon. And not something with a NEW color only!

I've notice the "7 to 10" days for receiving product is now "7 to 10 BUSINESS days". Obviously turning things over to post office has lengthen the travel times. So since they have changed their shipping remarks means they are not going to better their shipping methods or times.

I get annoyed when they pitch an item as being so reasonable and don't take into consideration that tax and shipping and handling can add an additional $10 to the price.

Did you ever notice that David ALWAYS has ""1200 people (or any ridiculous number) on the phone lines? How does he know how many are on the line?

I agree, OP. I don't like all this fooling around with the math as a selling technique. I know math and don't want some saleswoman telling me how much it is a day. Shady salesmen have always done that, dealing with a buyer by telling them how much their monthly payment will be. They don't want you to care about the real cost. LR insists on playing herself smart and customer stupid role. It's not like it's high level math....

I completely stopped watching Lisa, just because of those 2 phrases. I was so sick of hearing it, & her phoniness. If she comes on, I turn the channel immediately no matter what she is selling. I don't want to hear/see her.

I guess the producer tells him via the earpiece or they have it on some kind of board. It is just another way to get people to hurry and order.

I'm getting to be the same. Also everything she presents is "very, very popular".

They think people are stupid and after a while it's just insulting.
