The Eagles have dusted off Olympic hurdler Devon Allen for tonight's game. His first game as an active player if I'm right. The kid is lightning fast, so it'll be interesting to see how the Eagles use him.

Not the best first half for the Eagles' offense, but we're up 13-3, so no complaints.

Not the best game for the Eagles, but a win is a win. I'll take it. The score could have/should have been more one-sided, but we got the win anyway.

I'm thinking with our lack of a decent o-line, especially the sive known as Wiley.....we should just forfeit the Eagles game and take the "L"...Washington is going to get killed with the Eagles defense....![]()

@PARedbird wrote:@Spurt - yeah, nice of David to be a good sport! Sorry your allergies are bothering you but your rest is more important than watching the show.
I had to email my one Cowboys fan this morning on something and I really had to bite my tongue on their loss, so we'll see how tonight goes. If we win? I'll go after him tomorrow. LOL
I was sorry the Ravens lost too as I really like them as well. Besides them, I like KC too, even though they beat my team in the 'Bowl.
And that Miami score? OMG, that was crazy! Which led me to then Google the highest score ever in a game and turns out it was your team! 72 to 41 - they beat the Giants and it said it was back in 1966! Wow!
Since I got up so early I was tired to begin with and then when the evening rolled around and I took the allergy medicine it just finished me off, just couldnt stay awake------no matter how hard I tried!!
Well the Eagles won handily---CONGRATS to you and @gardenman
I like Mahomes but I dont like KC because their fans are being allowed to do the "tomahawk chop" chant---and we cant even keep our respectable native american logo.....![]()
HOW BOUT THEM DOLPHINS! (that was my paternal grandmothers favorite team)....I do wish my team could replicate that 1966 Redskin/Giant game although my sister would be quite angry.......

@gardenman wrote:It seemed weird that the Chiefs were willing to let Bieniemy just wander off. As a rule, successful teams try to keep their top coordinators. The Chiefs didn't even offer him a contract to stay. They were more in a "So long, it's been nice knowing you. Now get out!" kind of place. Not what you typically see from a successful team.
Yep, I heard that Andy Reid and EB werent on the best of terms........EB might call some good plays but then some awful ones too, especially near the RedZone....he forgets about schemes that worked the week before, the running game, our bad oline and tackles, and forgets about Dotson and Terry.....SMH!!! And Jack Del Rio is just as bad with the defense, with the talent we have we should be playing MUCH better........The big takeaway from the Bill's game was Cheeseman, the longsnapper solved his issues, and punter Tress Way is still the team's MVP!!

The Eagles' defensive line is about as good as they come. The kids at defensive tackle (Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Milton Williams, and Moro Ojomo) combined with Fletcher Cox, Kentavious Street, and Marlon Tuipulotu, just can't be blocked. Then add defensive ends Josh Sweat, Haasan Reddick, Brandon Graham, and Derek Barnett, and yikes! It's a dominant group.
It takes a rookie a few years to learn to play at defensive tackle. Jalen Carter is already dominant without truly knowing all of the tricks of the trade and being at his physical peak. An off-season in the Eagles conditioning program and a year's experience should make him even better next year. It's a fun group of guys to watch play together. Well, fun for Eagles' fans.
D'Andre Swift continues to impress. He averaged 8.1 yards per carry last night. The passing game still isn't up to full speed yet, but it's getting better. AJ Brown had a big night. Hurts was battling a flu-like illness along with several offensive players, so that could have been part of the issue.
The Eagles have a short week now to get ready for Sunday, but we didn't get banged up too badly in the game. We get Washington in Philly then on the road for the Rams and Jets before a big game against the Dolphins.

Here's a rather interesting scenario Golic Jr threw out on the GOJO & GOLIC PODCASTS......Kirk Cousins is an UFA in 2024.....They discussed possible landing sites if QB needy teams seek him out and what if Washington they decided the Sam Howell experiment didnt work out and if Cousins was brought back to Washington---LOL!!! In the "Quarterback" docuseries both Kirk and his wife said they enjoyed their time in Washington....good memories.....Yep, Golic Jr that would be something.....BUT before you decide to stick with Sam or move on-----PLEASE GET YOURSELF AN O-LINE!!!

The QB situation throughout the NFL will be interesting in 2024. Justin Fields might be done in Chicago. Kyler Murray might be done in Arizona. Kirk Cousins will likely be done in Minnesota. (Kirk could be traded at the deadline this year if the Vikings are doing poorly.) And the usual pool of free-agent QBs (Mayfield, Mariota, Winston, Darnold, Brissett, etc.) will still be there for any team willing to try those guys yet again.
Kids like Dorian Thompson-Robison of the Browns and Tanner McKee of the Eagles will be looked at by QB-needy teams who can't draft a guy they love and would rather take a chance on a kid with upside instead of the eternal retreads. At what price though? The Browns and Eagles know what they lucked into with those guys. They won't give them away.
The Cowboys will be paying Dak nearly $60 million next year ($59.455 million to be precise). But they can't move on from him due to a $61.915 million dead cap hit. Trey Lance will be in the last year of his rookie deal, so if the Cowboys opt to keep him, they'll have to pony up some big cash. He'll want franchise tag-type money if he's to stay in Dallas. The QB franchise tag next year will likely be around $45+ million, so not cheap.
If you're the Chiefs, Eagles, Dolphins, Bills, Jags, etc., and have "your guy," you're in luck. A whole lot of teams will be wading into the QB pool again and hoping to find a gem. And there aren't a lot of gems out there waiting to be found.
If the Giants continue to implode then Daniel Jones might be available if you're willing to assume his contract. The comments from the Niners players after Thursday's game show that they don't think he's an NFL starting-caliber QB. Do the Giants' players agree?
Getting the right QB is very important for a coach and GM. It's also very difficult. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

@Spurt - yes, I was almost surprised the Eagles won. Philly sports guys still saying they're not playing their best so hoping that changes soon. Hey, as long as they keep winning so we'll see! Now we play your team on Sunday. Told you my coworker is also a fan and he's not so confident about them beating us. Hey, you never know, right?
Yes, I've often wondered how the Chief fans can still get away with their tomhawk chop but then again, who is going to stop them at the game. However, so sick of hearing about Travis and Taylor. That'll last a hot minute or two as neither one of them can make a commitment. I just wish they'd stop in the media and on the news and some of the other shows in the morning! I turn it off as soon as they bring them up.
