That was a nail biter for sure.... and how would the Raiders have ever lived that down! 😄

@gardenman You were (happily) so wrong about the Browns vs Titans! What a game and now the Browns are 9-3! Whoda thunkit!

Re: Week Thirteen of the 2020 NFL Irregular Season!!!

That was a cute video of Frank Reich and his granddaughter.

Baker Mayfield! Thank you Browns. The Colts took care of their side, and now are tied with the Titans for first in the AFC South.

The Texans were driving to tie the score at the end, but Watson fumbled the ball and the Colts recovered.

Watson proved , though, how difficult he is to tackle. Many times he escaped going down.

Re: Week Thirteen of the 2020 NFL Irregular Season!!!

The Eagles imploded nicely. We've got to bench the old guys who won't be here next year and play the kids. Jason Peters is done. Alshon Jeffery is useless. It's time to park those guys. We've now officially got a QB controversy. The Giants winning today helps us avoid making the playoffs, which gives us a better draft slot. I suspect we'll trade Ertz for additional picks also. These next few weeks will be interesting.

Re: Week Thirteen of the 2020 NFL Irregular Season!!!

It's game day! Again! Yet? Stlll? Is it ever not game day this year? Today we see the WFT take on the Steelers at 5:00 PM ET and then the Bills take on the Niners at the regular MNF time. Tomorrow we get the Cowboys/Ravens.

Back to the Eagles game again, there are now oft-repeated rumors that Doug Pederson plans to resign as head coach at the end of the season. (Smart man. On a side note, anyone interested in a Doug Pederson/Nick Foles "Philly Special" statue, contact the Eagles at 1-800-WE'RE BAD to inquire about the price.)

Doug is clearly not happy this year. He's not coaching well this year. There are all kinds of issues. Washed up guys are playing. Promising rookies/young players aren't. Is Doug burned out? Stressed out? Frustrated with Howie Roseman and the Eagles front office? (If so, join Andy Reid and Chip Kelly in their private club about that same issue and prepare a seat for whoever the next Eagles head coach is.)

Yesterday saw the Eagles park Carson Wentz in the pocket behind a porous offensive line with receivers who couldn't get open. Jason Peters is cooked. He was either getting blown past or pushed back into the pocket on nearly every snap. Alshon Jeffery only got open once all game and that was when he shoved a defender out of the way and got called for offensive pass interference. Then when, oddly enough, Wentz wasn't terribly effective, they benched him and put in Jalen Hurts. (They also pulled Peters and Jeffery when they put in Hurts which helped a lot.)

On Hurts' first series they had him moving around in the pocket (not a sitting duck in the pocket) and miracle of miracles, the team moved the football. Then, of course, they left him in the pocket after that and he didn't, but just ignore all of that.

This is a dysfunctional mess of a team right now. We've got a game-breaking running back in Miles Sanders who got ten carries in the game. Boston Scott is a sparkplug type running back who energizes the team when he gets carries and he got two carries. And Jordan Howard, just back with the team after being cut by Miami where he averaged less than two yards per carry got four carries. Against a team that's biggest weakness is their inability to stop the run, we ran the ball sixteen times. Ugh!

We have receivers who can't beat man coverage who faced man coverage most of the game and were never given man beater routes. (That's kind of how you beat man coverage.) Scheme receivers open. Rub routes where a defender has to go around another defender buys a receiver space to make a catch in man coverage. Double moves can break a guy open. We're just not doing any of that.

Well, the good news is any new coach is going to have some talent to play with. The Eagles offensive line of Lane Johnson at right tackle (when healthy) Brandon Brooks at right guard (when healthy) Kelce at Center, and Seumalo at left guard, are very solid. Jordan Mailata has been a good left tackle. Then there are a ton of good kids as backups. WIth Peters taken out, the line should be pretty solid for next season. Dallas Goedert is a very good tight end. Zach Ertz will likely be traded this offseason for whatever draft pick the Eagles can get (third round or higher as they'd get a third if they keep him and let him leave in free agency in 2022. If they don't get offered a third or higher, Ertz will be back.) The kid receivers have a lot of talent and should develop, Wentz and Hurts are both NFL caliber QB's. The defense is pretty solid though a good young corner and safety could be helpful, along with a linebacker or two.

This truly isn't a really bad team, they're just playing like one. Much of that is the coaching. How much of the bad coaching is being dictated from above? I'm guessing quite a bit. Andy Reid got frustrated with the higher-ups. Chip Kelly got frustrated with the higher-ups. Doug Pederson seems frustrated with the higher-ups. Maybe, just maybe the problem isn't the coaches or the QBs, but those guys in the suits dictating how the team must be run.

The good news is we're pretty much locked into a top ten draft pick and if things work out right, a top-five pick. Maybe as high as third. And with QBs going one and two that would give us the pick of the crop at the non-QB spot. (Now watch us draft a kicker.) So, this season is pretty much done and dead from an Eagles perspective and an exciting offseason of us trying to find a new head coach, and maybe a new GM (God willing) to revive things for next year. This truly isn't a bad team, they're just playing like one. Expect a big bounce-back next year.

@gardenman

What can I say---you provided a reality check of where the Eagles stand....It will be interesting to see if they make coaching changes, who they pick,  where the Eagles head in the draft, FA, and for the future .....

Meanwhile, the Cowboys and many of their fans are living in a FANTASY WORLD and aren't based in reality----They simply blame their dismal season on losing Dak, Co-Vid and they think things will magically be okay next season....McCarthy WILL right the ship--LOL..They can't see the forest for the trees as the old saying goes...their mediocre line, and dismal defense is all an illusion..😄...They need a REALITY CHECK which they refuse to embrace, and for the rest of us in the NFC Least that's okay with us! 😉

Here's an actual sample of what they believe and hold on to---

There’s an old saying, ‘the plan is the plan, until the plan changes.’ That encapsulates the Dallas Cowboys this season. They had a plan to be one of the best teams in the league. There were loaded on offense, they finally spent money on quality free agents to help fix the defense and most importantly, they brought in a new coaching staff. There were good feelings about the Cowboys heading into the season..........(@gardenman what roster pray tell were they looking at??!?!?!?!)

Now some knowledgeable analysts are preparing mock drafts on how to rebuild the Cowboys. One actually thinks they may get rid of Elliott, from Mike Bacsik 105.3 The Fan, "I do think they are living in fantasy in what Elliott  is, because he isn't that anymore. I think reality will slap them in the face and they're going to have to take a strong look at their salary cap situation at the end of the 2021 season with Ezekiel Elliott. I think we're going to start hearing whispers out of Frisco that there's a possibility that the Cowboys are going to release Elliott after the 2021 season. And it will be a financial hit. But I think they're looking at it going, 'we can't keep paying this every year to a guy who is at best an average running back.'"

And Dak's choice may not be the Cowboys either..(personally I think they will over pay to keep Dak JMHO)

But the only one that counts in all these matters is GM Jerry Jones and what HE thinks and he's living in a fantasy world.....

Re: Week Thirteen of the 2020 NFL Irregular Season!!!

I said months ago that Dallas should leave Zeke in Cabo

Jets are very selfish. They have hold of that first draft pick and

not letting go.

See, you are smarter than your GM about Zeke...😉

Jets are like a bulldog hanging on to a bone---they want that first pick no matter how bad that it looks like they are truly tanking....LOL
