Thunder and lightning can be an issue and cause a long delay in games if it comes too close. Hopefully, it won't be an issue in today's games. I wonder if it affects games in domes? I would assume the dome would shield from lightning in some manner, but does it? Is there enough of an air gap between the dome and field that lightning could make the jump?

Did you hear about the lightning that damaged NC States 15 million brand new scoreboard......sad!

I didn't hear about that, but lightning can cause all kinds of chaos. Hopefully we don't see any in today's games.

Re: Week One of the 2023 NFL Regular Season!!!

QB Matt Corral, who the Patriots signed in preseason, has gone missing. He hasn't showed up for meetings or practice in two days and the team doesn't know where he is. Corral was suppose to try out for #2 QB spot. They placed him on the Exempt/left squad list until they find out more.

Corral has had some mental health problems, so the Patriots are concerned about that being a factor.

Hopefully Matt Corral is okay. If you're a QB with mental health issues New England might not be the ideal place to land. Bill Belichick isn't an especially warm and cuddly type of coach. Bill O'Brien, their OC, is similar. It might not be the best fit.

Yep you got that right----Beli and O'Brien no nonsense all business kinda coaches.  I assume that means Bailey Zappe is QB2

Cardinals are playing dirty, their defense keeps hitting our players in the head, we're getting penalties that move us down the field......Sam had to be checked for a concussion...ok and back on field.....good decisions by Sam....and TD....

Turn overs killed us, 2 fumbles 1 INT

EBs play calling was questionable---each time he called the same exact play in the red zone---3 running plays---ALL TIMES FAILED! And during this same 3 plays in the red zone thats when one fumble occurred--bad habit by RB Gibson!, G Wylie got run-over constantly, he was the player EB had us get from KC---bad decision, another olineman Shaddiq stupid penalties---line played bad overall  Sam was pressured all day and sacked 6 times and did have one fumble....but he had a nice run in for the TD!!---overall he played ok, got rid of the ball when needed....Defense FINALLY woke up in 2nd half---some nice plays by Jon Allen, Payne, and Sweat, Butler almost had an interception and also rookie Forbes couldve had nice INT but Cards play unsuccessful none the less due to his coverage...The only Card TD was off of the turnover so their offense was pretty well stopped in the second half.

OVERALL---this game shouldnt have been this difficult or close, also it was raining on and off too--BUT IT WAS A WIN-WHEW!!!

The AFC North with their stable of highly paid QBs looks unimpressive so far.

Re: Week One of the 2023 NFL Regular Season!!!

Jaguars 31-Colts 21. I am impressed with Anthony Richardson's NFL debut. He threw an interception in the end that the Jags took in for a touchdown. That was his only interception. There were good defensive plays on both sides. He also made long passes and scored a rushing touchdown. Had over 200 yards.

Richardson went down in the 4th quarter, and Minshew ended the game. He didn't go into the medical tent, so hopefully is OK.

The loss doesn't bother me. I was mostly focused on how well Richardson played. Steichen made some questionable calls, but this was his first game as HC, so there is time to figure things out.

In other games, Joe Burrow didn't play well. Too busy counting his money? I like Burrow, but come on!

Very disappointing showing for the Steelers. They looked worse than they did last year.
