@gardenman @teganslaw @sunshine45 @yellowBeetle @AuntG @yellowrose ....and ALL
Here's an interesting question that guest Kirk Cousins posed to the Manning brothers on their MNF telecast----
He said overall that quarterback play/performance seems to be down overall in the league despite some people's view that more and more officiating favors the QBs, WHY????
Peyton said that it appears that the defenses are aheaded of the offenses....
Eli cited all the changes and rules/regulations regarding offseason work, limited time for OTAs/practices, less preseason games so QBs and receivers and offenses getting less time to work together (which involves more timimg and coordination than what defenses require)
JMHO ---I will add the last few years not as much pro-offense ready QBs coming out of college--with exceptions of major schools Alabama, Georgia, Clemson etc etc.....so young QBs need more time to adjust to NFL play----And tenuredQBs are getting older which impacts their performance........Also, it seems less o-line prospects to protect the QBS......
With the NFL considering expansion it could water down QB play even more........
What do y'all think?

Once there's more or less a deal in place for the team, then Rivera could be out pretty quickly. As you said, the new owner will want "their guy" in charge. Deals to sell a team are seldom quick and easy to come by, but we've got the rest of November, all of December, and part of January before things need to be done. An outline of a deal can be cobbled together within a few days. It's the details that take time.
Once a new owner or ownership group is lined up and more or less secured, changes in the team leadership can take place. If one of the terms of a seven-billion-dollar deal is that the existing head coach has to be fired and replaced, the head coach is a goner. I don't know how much Dan Snyder loves Rivera anyway.
I read something interesting the other day that said Snyder would rather lose money than sell to Jeff Bezos. Reportedly, Snyder hates the Washington Post so much that he'd turn aside a better offer from Bezos just to keep Bezos' hands off the Commanders. We'll have to see how it all plays out.

They said that a deal could be done by March 2023.....

I think we talked about this---Albert Breer made it clear that if Bezos was the buyer, it wouldn’t cause the NFL to find a new partner for Thursday Night Football....because Bezos turned over Amazon's CEO duties to someone else....interesting
If Snyder wants 7.5 bill his suitors will be limited and no matter what he says----MONEY DOES TALK....Bezos took over the Post after much of the feud had already taken place and Bezos wasnt involved...And just like Snyder said he'd never change the name and would never sell....how did that work out

I think the falloff in offensive production is largely due to the number of teams "playing it safe" on defense. The two-deep safety look is more or less standard these days. Teams also start in a nickel or dime defense flooding the field with DBs. It used to be you could get a good matchup with a WR or fast TE against a plodding linebacker. Not so much these days. More and more teams are becoming "run first" on offense due to the number of smaller defenders on the field.
If you're the QB and you drop back and there are seven or eight defenders covering your three receivers, you're not going to be terribly successful. If you have a Cooper Kupp or Travis Kelce who always seem to find a way to get open, you'll be fine, but there aren't a lot of those guys around.
And I think a lot of QBs have gotten their brains a bit scrambled with constant coaching changes. Guys don't get to stay in a system long enough to become comfortable in that system. Daniel Jones is on his fourth head coach and offensive system in his fourth year.
