I am happy that Thiem won.  What a comeback.  And not being a fan of Azarenka (too much grunting) happy about Osaka too.   Looking forward to the French.

@kaydee50   I am happy Thiem won also.  The great thing about the match, besides the outstanding points, was the sportsmanship displayed.

 

It was a breath of fresh air to see someone win that was not one of the "Big 3."  Lots of young, wonderful players coming up for both the men and women.

 

It is so weird that after the U. S. Open they are headed to the clay in Europe....definitely a very strange year.

I see Serena has withdrawn from the Italian Open due to the Achilles tendon problem.  Hope she is able to play in Roland Garros.
