The Supreme Court ruled that states can allow sports gambling. I don't gamble  and I don't have strong feelings about this, but many do. What say all of you ?!

I’m not a big gambler. But I do know that gambling revenue brings much needed $$ into an area.I also believe in a states right to decide for itself it it wants it or not.

Sports betting has been going on illegally for decades. The mob had It’s bookies running it .Why not make it legal & have it regulated. This way the State treasury can benefit & maybe alleviate the tax burden on the rest of us.

As a gambler, all I can say is......"Its about time!!!!"

Illegal sports betting will still thrive just like "street" lottery (playing numbers).whistling.gif

Woohoo!

About time we stopped being ridiculous and let adults be adults.  No difference between sports teams which take some skill and lottery numbers which is mainly blind luck and a hint of statistics IF you want to get that serious about it.

If it brings in money for the states so they can stop whining about not having enough money for schools, teachers, roads etc I say go for it. Doesn’t mean I have to participate.

While I'm against gambling in any arena - don't get me started about Pete Rose!! Woman Mad His situation was vastly different as a Manager betting on the game.... & potentially throwing the game for his own benefit.

The ruling was about states' rights more than just gambling, we'll see if this translates to other national topics as well.

I personally don't believe in gambling on people or animals, but I do enjoy a visit to a casino and ever so often buy a lottery ticket.

States are in the gambling business themselves with the lotteries and scratch tickets.  State sponsored gambling bring hundreds of millions to states.  So, why shouldn't there be sports betting?  People are already betting with the bookies.   I don't buy lottery tickets and I don't gamble so it doesn't matter to me personally.   Those who want to should be able to.
