Such sad news. He was my favorite athlete growing up and admired him so much. Condolences to his loved ones and the sport of soccer. He put it on the map!

He epitomized soccer for me.  He was the only player I knew until 1990s.  He reminded me of Muhammed Ali as revered international sports figures. I imagine some Brazilians are in mourning as other around the world.
