Serena U.S. Open

[ Edited ]

Serena's first match is today at 7 PM Eastern. It doesn't seem that long ago when my son and I were in Key Biscaine at the Lipton (now the Miami Open) and were told to look at the two young girls sitting at the top of the opposite grandstand with their father. The lady who showed them to us said that they were supposed to be the next big thing in women's tennis. That was the first time I saw Venus and Serena.

It is hard to believe how much has happened since that day.

Best of luck with her "evolving" after tennis.

That is what I understand as well. I hope all goes well. She has earned a break. She has been on the tennis court longer than most.

What a spectacular win for Serena Williams tonight.  I haven't seen her play at that level for years.  She is a contender for the trophy.

Serena is awesome.  Her body is really built up especially her arm for back hand shots (I remember trying a backhand and nearly fell over at how difficult it is).    Go Serena wipe the girls off the map!

What a true champion she is!  DH is the tennis fan in our house but I had to watch thinking it was probably her last professional match.  I was not disappointed!
