@Flatbush@qbetzforreal , @KBEANS , and any other "older" or "newer" sumo fan !

The July tournament is July 9 - 24 in Nagoya.

Yokozuna and Grand Champion Terunofuji is back, but Ozeki Takakeisho and new Ozeki Kirishima (formerly Kiribayama - he changed his ring name when he was promoted to Ozeki) had to withdraw due to injuries.

Maegashira Ura is expected to do well, and of course I'm pulling for my favorite wrestler Tobizaru!

DH and I will be watching later. Enjoy!

@Flatbush - If you can please put the tournament name and/or dates in your subject line. Makes it easier for me to find later on if I need to! TY!)

2023 July Grand Sumo

[ Edited ]

Terunofuji and Takakeisho have withdrawn.  It is Terunofuji's knees again.

Kirishima is back.  @beach-mom , @Flatbush  @KBEANS

Re: SUMO, SUMO, SUMO is almost here.

The three rookies, Gonoyama - age 25, Shonannoumi - age 25, and Hakuoho- age 19, are doing well so far.

Hakuoho reminds me of Takakeisho, a "little bulldozer"! LOL!

And you all know how I feel about Tobizaru. Wait until you see Day 3, if you haven't already!   Smiley Wink

@qbetzforreal @beach-mom @KBEANS

I originally thought/heard it was his knees, but now I have heard that it was his back.Disc was injured. I wonder if he will ever be back, after all the absences he has had.I really looked forward to his return, and now this.
