Shocking about the French male gymnast who broke his leg between the knee and ankle.  To make it all the way to the Olympics, and then that.  Gymnastics is a demanding sport - maybe too demanding.

....and did you see that leg? i could not believe the photos i have seen!.....

Haven't seen it......and do not want to!  I'm too squeamish with those things.  I could never be a doctor!

I saw the video of that yesterday. The calf area of the leg should not bend like that; it was bad. :-(

On a positive note -  watching our ladies gymnasts now and they are ON FIRE!

I also thought the lone Romanian competitor did a darn good balance beam routine.

It was pretty bad - bent in an very unnatural position.  So I decided not to post the photo here.  Smiley Happy  And yet the gymnast grimaced for a second or two, then just looked annoyed.

Wow, I didn't know that.  It was the exact same injury, and it ended Theisman's career.  He said he didn't feel pain in the immediate afermath - something about endorphins kicking in.   That may explain the gymnast's reaction, which was calmer than expected.

Gabby doesn't seem like her heart is in it this time around! She seemed very sad maybe, not sure but her emotions just weren't there.....I do like Simone and Aly though. I also really like Laurie Hernandez-what a cutie!
