I just wanted to say that I'm a Patriots fan and saw the clip this morning of Nick Foles talking about his daughter. It was so touching, he seems to be a great guy.

Wish I had been able to see his joint appearance with Tom.

The trio of Eagles quarterbacks, Foles, Wentz, and Sudfeld, all seem to be high class, high morals, high value guys. They're all good leaders who are respected by their teammates. They compete between themselves to see who can study the most film and be the best prepared. They may not be the most physically dominant quarterbacks in the league, but you'd be hard pressed to find a finer group of men.

In contrast, you have some guys like Baker Mayfield, who's coming out in this year's draft, who have more talent, but are less stable. Will Mayfield mature quickly? We'll find out.

@gardenman

A couple more pointson Cousins.....there was a funny bit with comedian and he said Snyder is an ABSOLUTE GENIUS....he went into the future and saw how Cousins will play at 34 ....and so he traded for Alex Smith....LOL

Here's the scoop on the "guaranteed" contract for Alex Smith:

 The "four-year, $94 million extension" number got a lot of attention, but it's largely meaningless. Even the $71 million in "guarantees" likely doesn't mean much. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that $71 million of Smith's contract will be guaranteed for injury only -- basically three seasons -- which means the Redskins could still cut bait for performance reasons without paying all that money.

Based on past precedent and league scuttlebutt, the fine print will likely show this is truly a two-year commitment for Smith. What he makes over the next two seasons is almost all that matters in this deal. He'll surely make over $20 million per year over that span, possibly around $25 million per year.

Re: NFL PRE-SUPERBOWL NEWS/NOTES

@Spurt

The problem for the Redskins is they gave up a starting corner and a third round pick to get a guy who's basically an older version of Cousins. He's a relatively short term solution to a long term problem. Smith will be learning a new system, surrounded by lesser caliber players, in a tougher division. Maybe he'll rise to the occasion, or maybe he'll get exposed. My money is on him getting exposed.

Now the Redskins have to find a new corner and they're short a draft pick. Do they pick a QB? It'll be interesting to see.

I agree and most of the Redskin fans are angrier at losing Fuller than what went down on with the QB situation....so we have less picks and now have to go back a step and get a player at a position that we were comfortable and pleased with. We might be able to trade down and pick up another pick to make up for losing the 3rd....and we will get a compensatory pick next year............

But you know what, with a QB shortage this seems to be the asking price these days and its apt to get worse after Cousins does his deal....And if 7 teams were in the bidding for Alex, the Redskins had to do something to get it done and be the winning bidder......The NFL has a serious problem with the QB shortage ....and its impacting play and I think one of the reasons ratings are down....people look at matchups especially on Thursday Nights and prefer something else to watch.........

From what Im reading if Redskins draft a QB it won't be until late rounds...and all the good prospects most likely will be gone.....

ravens GM ozzie newsome is stepping down after the 2018 season. he will be replaced by the assistant GM eric de costa. he has been our GM since 2002 and has been with the team for 22 years. he will be doing scouting now for the team......the highest paid scout in the league.

the ravens said they intend to work on their offensive line this year. will be interesting to see what is available.
