And back to football. The Eagles have finalized their 90 man roster heading into tomorrow's official OTA's and we're back down to a manageable four quarterbacks from the seven we had in the rookie minicamp. We've got Wentz, Foles, Sudfeld, and Callahan. Apparently none of the three kids impressed enough to earn a roster spot.

Depth is not an issue in most spots on the roster right now. We're pretty much neck deep in depth everywhere but safety. Last year we were thin at safety, linebacker and corner, but linebacker and corner are now deep and only the safety spot looks a bit light. The good news is it's easy to slide a corner to safety in a pinch and we've got a lot of corners.

It may be challenging filling out the practice squad this year as many, if not most, of the late cuts will get picked up by someone else. We're two and three starting caliber players deep at nearly every roster spot. It's a good problem to have.

Re: NFL News for May 2018!!

[ Edited ]

Jamison Crowder said with the Redskins new offensive weapons they "have a chance to be really good." He said having a speed receiver like Paul Richardson will help him —as would a healthy Jordan Reed.

Washington left guard Arie Kouandjio will miss the entire season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn quadriceps muscle. Washington recently re-signed Shawn Lauvao as insurance.

That Redskins offensive line will be interesting to watch. Losing a starter this early is not a good thing. Trent Williams had a knee issue last year and surgery in late December. Recovery time for that procedure is said to be six to nine months. Quite a few of the Redskins' offensive linemen had injury issues last year also. Getting and keeping five healthy guys in front of Alex Smith will be critical for them this year. There's not a lot of depth on that roster at the offensive line spot and when you lose one guy it means everyone else has to take more reps. When guys take more reps they're more likley to get hurt which makes the rest of the guys take even more reps and leads to still more injuries. I'm assuming Trent Williams isn't ready to practice yet, and with Kouandijo now out, that has them down two guys already.

More reps can be good for a younger player, but it also exposes the player to more risk of injury. In pretty much every training camp you see this cascade of injuries hit a team at one position or another. Lose a linebacker or two and the remaining guys have to pick up the slack. Soon one of them gets dinged, then another and before long you have one or two guys taking the reps of five or six guys.

Carson Wentz lives! The Eagles started their OTA's today and no one expected much from Wentz. Suffice to say we got a lot from him instead. He's bouncing around in the pocket, moving well, throwing the ball well, and basically looking like Carson Wentz. The media is shocked at how well he looks.

Eagles' Twitter feed nearly exploded with videos of Carson moving, running, throwing. All the news wasn't good however. Paul Worrilow, a backup linebacker, bumped knees with another linebacker and fell to the ground. The media is calling it a knee injury, but the trainers put an aircast on it which typically is used for a broken bone rather than a knee injury, unless it was a dislocated knee.

Early impressions from the media are positive. Shelton Gibson, last year's fifth round pick at wide receiver looked good. He made some impressive catches and was fast.

Donnell Pumphrey, our running back in last year's draft is back at full speed and looking good. The offense should be faster than last year's. This year's rookie class is looking good. Things look pretty good so far.

Interesting. Paul Worrilow apparently tore his ACL and is likely gone for the year. The Eagles then cut Mychal Kendricks. Apparently, they're pretty confident in the kid linebackers.

Even though Arie Kouandjio was starting the last 6 games he was a third stringer that was made a starter when Morgan Moses was hurt, they moved another backup Ty Nsekhe to Moses spot at RG and moved Arie to LG...........

Today Arie was placed on waivers with an injury designation. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, he will revert to injured reserve or work out a release with an injury settlement..

They have signed Isaiah Williams. Williams signed with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and spent the year on the practice squad. He spent time with the Chiefs and Colts last season, he was on the Colt's active roster but didnt appear in any games.

Monday night Derrius Guice is showing why he’s becoming a fan favorite: He treated nearly two dozen fans to see the movie "Avengers: Infinity War. Other Redskins players attended a private screening at the same theater where Guice was treating his new fans. Guice bought the fans tickets and food.
