Re: NFL News and Notes for September 2020!!!

Signing Josh Rosen was a smart move for the Bucs. Brady's a short term guy at QB, so they can try to rebuild Rosen into an NFL QB.

The Eagles claimed running back Jason Huntley from the Lions. They'll see if they can make him into the next Darren Sproles. In all likelihood, Sproles played a role in bringing him in. Sproles is working in the personnel department in Philly and Boston Scott is a Sproles-like player and so is Jason Huntley. He'll start out as a kick/punt returner then transition into a running back as he learns the system.

Three Eagles were claimed on waivers with CB Rasul Douglas and DE Shareef Miller going to the Panthers and TE Noah Togiai going to the Colts. All three could have made the practice squad if not claimed.

Here's something interesting..... former WFT WR Trey Quinn signed with his old coach, Jay Gruden and the Jags....

Most of the guys that were cut cleared waivers and are now bound for WFT's Practice Squad, players of note.....

DE Nate Orchard, LB Donald Payne, QB Steven Montez, OL Ross Pierscbacher, WR Cam Sims (not to be confused with Steven Sims who made the roster as a starter),

Re: NFL News and Notes for September 2020!!!

In an interesting move, the Eagles signed Josh McCown to the practice squad. He'll live in Texas and communicate online with the existing QBs and coaches, but stay isolated. That way if the QB room should get Covid, the Eagles will have a QB in isolation ready to step in and play. That's kind of a clever approach to things. They can keep the three QBs on the roster (Wentz, Sudfeld, and Hurts) together, but still have an experienced QB in isolation ready to step in should the need arise.

Re: NFL News and Notes for September 2020!!!

In a funny quirk, the Eagles traded a third and fifth round pick to the Lions for Darius Slay. By claiming Jason Huntley, who was a fifth round pick of the Lions, they pretty much ended up getting Slay for just a third round pick. It's funny how things work out sometimes.
