Gardenman, I wouldn't say that the Bills and "Whiners" are likely losses for Washington. The Colts beat the Bills 41-15 at Buffalo when Carson Wentz was QB. Jonathan Taylor ran for 5 touchdowns during that game. Also Buffalo was bad in the playoff game last year. The Bills are vulnerable.

Also, as long as Washington doesn't do stupid things against SF (like the Cowboys did), they could beat that team. The Colts usually have had luck against SF. That was with Jimmy G., though.

Thank you for your words of encouragement----ya never know what can happen---weather, injuries, penalties, or just players having a bad day can impact a game....

As for the Forty Whiners if Purdy is still recovering from his injury Washington has a good chance....Trey Lance or Darnold doesnt inspire fear and our defense is pretty good.....our main issue is did we do enough on the oline and of course our QB situation we dont really know what we got! Our running game is decent with Gibson and Robinson.....who are also dual threats running and catching...

It will be interesting to see how Richardson does if he starts....GOOD LUCK TO YOUR COLTS

@sunshine45

Washington has confirmed earlier reports that they will be having joint practices with the Baltimore Ravens. The teams play their annual Battle of the Beltway preseason game August 21st at FedEx Field, but they will be up the road at the Under Armour Performance Center August 15th-16th.

This will be the first time under Head Coach Ron Rivera the team has participated in joint practices. The last time Washington held joint practices was when they were still called the Redskins and they held training camp in Richmond, VA.

@Spurt

Tanking for a QB isn't the worst idea, especially given the free agent class in 2024. There just aren't a lot of other options. You might be able to get a Kyler Murray or Dak Prescott if neither lives up to expectations, but both come with big contracts and other issues. I think some teams got a bit spoiled the last couple of years when they could just grab a decent free agent or older vet. There just don't look to be any on the market in 2024.

Josh Harris is fond of big moves and might have gotten into a bidding war for Aaron Rodgers. He knows he needs a QB. Finding one will be the challenge.

Re: NFL News and Notes for May 2023!!!

The people at PFF ran their season simulator and have the Eagles losing two of their first three games and scoring a total of 21 points over those three games. Uh, care to bet on that PFF? I'd be surprised if the Eagles have more than a game or two all season where they scored less than 21 points. This offense will score points.

Re: NFL News and Notes for May 2023!!!

I already drafted some players in fantasy for this season, and have Jalen Hurts as my main QB. I also have Dallas Goedert as my second TE (George Kittle is first).

Several teams seem to be interested in Carson Wentz. Most likely he would be backup. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone pick him up.

Re: NFL News and Notes for May 2023!!!

Carson Wentz is still a top twenty QB in the league. In the right situation he could be a top ten QB. It was just 2017 when he was going to be the league MVP before he tore up his knee.

Injuries and confidence issues have affected him lately but land him with an Andy Reid, or other QB whisperer and he'd shock the world. The kid has talent.  He's just lost his way. Put him in the right situation and he'd thrive.

ITA I think Wentz's problem is not having the right coaches and system that fit his skill set and ability.

Re: NFL News and Notes for May 2023!!!

The Colts still need to address the right guard position. The players available, Will Fries and Danny Pinter, are OK, but average. They need someone with more skill in that area. Maybe they'll take care of that before the season.

The Commanders likely won't face any punishment for tampering to get Andrew Luck. Apparently, there is not enough evidence to charge them. The case probably will be closed and not investigated further.

Re: NFL News and Notes for May 2023!!!

Green Bay will be hosting to 2025 NFL Draft. And the Whiners will be hosting the 2026 Super Bowl. The league will now allow teams to dress a third QB who won't count on the active roster unless the first two get injured. This is largely being done to appease the Forty-Whiners who continue to insist they could have won the NFC title had that been the rule.

There's no rule limiting the number of QBs a team can dress and use. A team could have 53 QBs on the roster if they chose to. The Whiners chose not to have a spare. Not that their fourth strong QB would have made a difference. If they truly believe whoever they had behind Josh Johnson was going to make up a big deficit, they're delusional.

Yep San Francisco should officially change their name to the FORTY WHINERS, they always find something to whine about! .....Teams make their own decisions on how many QBs they want to carry....so that was on Shannahan and Lynch NOT the league when Purdy and his backup BOTH got hurt and they didnt carry a 3rd QB backup.......

Maybe not the Super Bowl but other teams on regular season games have had to endure this...@gardenman---this should bring back memories---During a Monday Night Football game that came to be known as “The Body Bag Game” on November 12, 1990, Brian Mitchell, RB and special teamer, who also had played some QB in college had to be subbed in as QB after the Philadelphia Eagles knocked the Redskins’ starting and backup QBs out of the game. Mitchell went 3-for-6 for 40 yards passing and ran for a touchdown.

Pretty soon the FORTY WHINERS will ask for AI (artificial intelligence) NFL players that they can sub so the player cant get hurt...LOL
