Re: NFL News and Notes for June 2019!!!

I wonder if there's something else with Elliott that we don't know about? They drafted two running backs this year which was odd. Maybe they know something we don't know? You can pick up serviceable running backs without a lot of trouble, so drafting two was a little odd.

Good point! Maybe something else happened that Zeke and the Cowboys hid from the press reports....Or perhaps they were thinking that Zeke's asking price  would be more than they would want to pay.....and RB's are a dime a dozen...so possibly cut their losses on a known troublemaker with possible future suspenions....... things that make you go hmmmm????

Re: NFL News and Notes for June 2019!!!

It is a little odd to spend two draft picks on backs when you've got a guy who never comes off the field. It's not like they were three deep at every other position on the roster. They had and still have roster holes they could have used those picks on. It was one of those attention getting moves on draft day that made you wonder what they were thinking. You can always pick up a serviceable back in a Kenjon Barner type guy if you need one. There are probably fifty guys out there you can bring in if you really need a back who will be okay, or better than okay.

There are lots of rumors that the Eagles and Jacksonville are working on a trade to move Nelson Agholor to the Jags. Nick Foles and Agholor have a good relationship and our former QB coach DeFillippo is their OC now, so there's a lot of knowledge of how good a player Agholor is. The Eagles have a ton of depth at wide receiver now and Agholor is getting $9 million this year and will be a free agent after the year.

In terms of depth, the Eagles have Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, Charles Johnson, Mack Hollins, Carlton Agudosi, Shelton Gibson, Braxton Miller, Marken Michel (Sony's brother who impressed a lot in the OTA's), Greg Ward Jr. (also impressive in OTA's) and Devin Ross. We typically keep five or six receivers so there are more players than roster spots by a large margin.

What would the Eagles get in return? I would think the least they'd want would be a fifth round pick, but they'd probably ask for a lot more. In terms of players, maybe a Yannick Ngakoue if you can work out a new deal for him beforehand. He's giving the Jags a hard time about getting a new contract. The Eagles have some decent cap space, so it would be doable. Maybe a Calais Campbell, but he's an older guy? Myles Jack would be a no-brainer as would Jalen Ramsey. If they offer those guys you jump at it. We'll have to see what happens.

Re: NFL News and Notes for June 2019!!!

Here's something very scary:

Per a source with knowledge of the ongoing labor negotiations between the NFL and the NFL Players Association, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has taken a much more visible and vocal role, so far. He has become a driver of the discussions.
