@Spurt - I'm just going to agree with both you and Gardenman on your picks.  I don't have all the knowledge that the two of you do knowing everything about all the teams, how good or bad they are, etc.  I basically know who is good, though.  I think your team will do very well this season and give our Eagles a challenge for the East.  I really like the Bills and Ravens so we'll see how that all goes. Again, anyone but KC!  Sick of them!

I wanted to mention from your post the other day that cracked me up about the dinosaurs and eventually how they may be recreated in the upcoming years.  So that made me wonder, if at some point, we won't even have refs anymore in the NFL!  If they create robot ones to call all the games!  Same for any pro sport!  A scary thought!

And I love your sister's adorable Doppio!!  Sending him hugs!  Heart

OH, not only the refs....but I gather even the football players themselves cheaper to maintain.....I think whoever wrote the Jetson's cartoon was right with their predictions.....

Re: NFL News and Notes for July 2025!!!

The Terry McLaurin contract fight is getting interesting. There's lots of chatter of McLaurin sitting out training camp now. The Commanders are clinging to the belief that the Mike Evans contract (two years at $41 million total) is the best comparable deal. That deal would have McLaurin taking a pay cut, and he wants a pay bump.

The Evans' deal is the best one for the Commanders, but not even close to the best option for McLaurin. Evans has more of an injury history and is a bit older. McLaurin almost never misses a game and is a bit younger.

I'm not sure Terry McLaurin is the guy you want to play hardball with on a new contract. He's always been a team-first guy. You risk alienating the locker room by trying to nickel and dime the guy. There are players you can put the squeeze on and try to force to accept an undermarket deal, McLaurin isn't the type of guy you play those games with. You need instead to acknowledge what he's done and reward him. You pay him closer to tenth than twentieth. Is he top-ten? Not really, but he's close. Nickel and diming players is seldom a good thing. If you have to do it for cap purposes, it's one thing, but if you've got the cap space and are still doing it, it breeds resentment.

SPURT, in his senior year Kameron Jones averaged 19.2 points and 5.9 assists per game. He is considered an excellent playmaker, although he is a streaky scorer. He has the ability to off balance opponents and does well as a combo guard. Also has leadership abilities.

Maybe Bryce Huff has some kind of grudge against Nick Sirriani Howie Roseman or the city of Philadelphia. The 49ers will eventually learn if they made a mistake in signing him.

I think the Bears and Jets both have a chance to win. The Bears could improve under new management and the Jets would like to prove that letting Aaron Rodgers leave was a good move. I sense a rebellion by Doppio in predicting the Commanders over the Giants.

@teganslaw

Thanks for the info on Jones, sounds like a decent player....

As far as Doppio and his rebellion....I sense he hasn't been given his share of treats making him ornery.....And he does get ornery....Cat LOL

Re: NFL News and Notes for July 2025!!!

Hmm... well, that's something you don't see every day. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson's baby mama, in a feud with CJGJ, claims he hired a friend named Z to put a hit on Malik Nabers last year. I suspect the league is taking a long, hard look at that. "Uh, he did what?"

The Texans are starting to wonder if maybe there was a reason the Eagles traded him away. "Just how final is that trade? Could we get Kenyon Green back?" Howie is likely laughing his head off at the whole thing. "The deal is done! He's yours! Good luck with that!"

I'm not sure I've ever heard of an NFL player putting a hit on a rival player. It would be interesting to know who Z was. It's all unconfirmed and could all be fake, but it's an interesting twist on things. League investigators are no doubt taking a long, hard look at things. Malik Nabers is likely in the "He did what?!?" stage now.

It's a drama for a Lifetime movie for sure.....Did Malik Nabers have an affair with CJGJ baby's mama perhaps???? OR just baby mama drama???? Interesting name for CJGJ's Ex--Summer Bunni...Strange situation!!! And it looks like a headache for the Texans.....CHARACTER DOES MATTER!!!

Re: NFL News and Notes for July 2025!!!

@Spurt

Yeah, Lifetime movie stuff for sure. I'm pretty sure the league is taking a long look at this and wondering what happened. CJGJ's agent is in crisis management mode. "Chauncey who? Never heard of him!"

The Texans are like, "Can we ever have just one season without some sort of drama?"

Putting a hit on an opponent likely violates the league's personal conduct policy. If not, the league will be rapidly amending the personal conduct policy to ensure it does going forward. "We didn't think we had to specify that putting a hit on an opponent is disallowed, but maybe we do."

Summer Bunni doesn't strike me as the name of an attorney, accountant, engineer, or occupation outside the "personal services" field. If that's her given name (it probably isn't), her parents clearly didn't have high ideals for her. If you think a child is going to grow up to be president, you don't name them Summer Bunni. If you think they'll grow up to be a stripper or "masseuse," yeah, Summer Bunni fits. Other lines of work? Not so much. She's a self-proclaimed "model." Eh, okay. Sure.

I'm not sure either CJGJ or Summer Bunni hit the high character threshold you'd prefer.  Whatever. He's the Texans' problem now.  Good luck with that.

Re: NFL News and Notes for July 2025!!!

ESPN lists the top 10 defensive tackles for 2025. The list is voted by exes, scouts and coaches.

#1 Dexter Lawrence of the Giants.

Eagles Jalen Carter is #3; Colts DeForest Buckner is #8.

I don't know about a hit being put on Malik Nabors. It could be made up, and if true, how would they prove anything? The Cowboys have problem players, but at least none of them ever hired a hit man (person.)

Re: NFL News and Notes for July 2025!!!

[ Edited ]

There was a recent story (which some are questioning the reliability, while others say it'strue) about Dak Prescott having a 1.4 GPA in high school in Haughton High School, Haughton, LA....Others point out in college Dak was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll....but what was his major....educational psychology in 2014 and a Master's degree in workforce education leadership ..Woman Frustrated..Any psychology degree is a waste of time and money unless you get a PHD...it requires an advanced degree to get a good paying job just ask my sister and also my numerous coworkers that have psychology degrees and are now working in an office...And Dak also studied "workforce leadership", thats an actual course????, and not a very good one apparently because that's why there's a real lack of GOOD leadership in the business world, look around....a decent amount of common sense instead would work wonders!!!

Now in defense of Dak, most NFL QBs had lame majors in college and have lame degrees, and so do a lot of other folks.....Before a high school graduate spends all that money on college I urge them to check out the earning potential of what that degree offers to help decide if that debt would actually be worth it in the long run....Maybe trade school would be better.....extensive training at an IT school ---especially in AI, cybersecurity, and software development are highly valued, or plumbers, electricians, HVAC mechanic, aircraft mechanic, dental hygienist, respiratory therapist are making good money......If I could go back in time...

To complete my rant why can't people with degrees spell???? For example my sis transcribed for her cat Doppio's game predictions, spelled Titans...tightens LoL....I was following a friend's recipe and called and asked, what's this word on the card--GRIESE???...She you know like putting cisco on your cooking sheet....oh you mean GREASE...like the musical!!!! And there's my cousin's friend ....you know on the maps of the USA they don't want to have to show a large portion of Canada so they show Alaska in at the bottom of the map near Hawaii .....and this guy actually thinks this is where Alaska is located!!... I kid you not!!!! I'm sure y'all can provide other examples.....  And then there is world geography ....playing Trivial Pursuit with this category becomes laughable..ask them where India or Australia is located, or a country in Western Europe...didnt they color maps in school???? Watch the Game Show Network and the lack of knowledge in general categories like history, science, literature ( And I'm not talking Jeopardy here, just easy basic questions--- the Alamo is in Dallas????) Our educational system has gone to hades....smh!!!

States is in USA

NFL news is lacking and will be so until training camp starts which is gonna be soon....so thank you for letting me kill some time and rant about this....Woman Very Happy
