I don't need this! Carson Wentz is sitting out practice because of a foot injury. He's being evaluated as to how serious it is.

Center Ryan Kelly injured his elbow and will also miss some practice. Not sure how bad it is.

I think it's Roseanne RosannaDanna who said "It's always something."

Kelly will miss a couple weeks of practice. If Wentz has surgery they said he could miss a couple games. It's not super serious. No surgery he could miss a few weeks of camp. Should know today.

Ryan Kerrigan was interviewed yesterday and asked how it was different practicing with the Eagles. He laughed and said it was just like playing against the Eagles as he's going against Lane Johnson and the other Eagles' linemen each day in practice instead of in a real game. He's fitting in pretty well and looks good so far.

😥😭......... Glad he's fitting in with his new team, and I think the WFT made a mistake..... Ill be cheering him on when the Eagles play the Cowboys....😭😭😭

Several players are standing out in camp in the minds of the WFT coaches---

Landon Collins who has been much maligned by fans, is looking good now that he's healthy---Both Coach Rivera and DC Jack Del Rio have been praising him and considering an important part of the defense---"He looks great; he’s in great shape. He’s working really well right now. He’s getting a lot of reps and just mixing it up; we’ve got him playing a couple of different spots and he’s done a really nice job with all that.”

With the drafting of LB Jamin Davis, the feeling was that 30 yr old Jon Bostic was as good as gone....But he's been called out by Coach Rivera for his intelligent savvy play, in addition to his leadership...Both teammates and coaches have long praised Bostic for his ability to diagnose what the opponent is doing and help his teammates get in position. His limitations in terms of individual athleticism are made up for by what he adds as a leadership to what Coach Rivera considers to be a young team.............

Training camp so far has proven the worth of Humphries’ veteran experience and the fact that he has history with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick from their days of playing together in Tampa Bay. Coach Riveras praised Humphries veteran understanding of how to exploit a defense, which seems the more valuable commodity for the offense, similar to the contribution that Jon Bostic makes to the defense.

“You see a very savvy receiver,” head coach Ron Rivera yesterday. ”One thing you’re looking for is that when a guy is out there and he recognizes coverages. You know, you don’t run the route the way it’s drawn; when you watch him and his releases, he sees certain things. He makes those adjustments quickly cause he’s a veteran guy.

If you’re on the same page as your quarterback, the ball will get to you and we’ll find ways to advance it down the field. You see that from [Adam]. That’s why we went out and got a guy like that.”

Ron Rivera clearly values veteran leadership and understanding for what he continually describes as a ‘young’ football team, and that’s something he gets from Adam Humphries that the other slot receiver specialists can’t offer.

And a rookie continuint to make some noise in camp is WR Dyami Brown--Brown is already impressing coaches and teammates with his poise, attention to detail, maturity, route-running and play-making ability.

In GOOD news---

Coach Rivera is very confident in the depth behind Chase and Sweat. He’s been very impressed with James Smith-Williams and likes how Shaka Toney and Will Bradley-King are practicing......Rivera said he’s “very confident” in James Smith-Williams as the 3rd DE but he won’t rule out adding a veteran pass rusher down the road as needed

In BAD news---

QB Kyle Allen tweaked his surgically repaired ankle in practice....One wonders if Heinicke will be elevated to the number 2 QB spot, and Allen for fall to the 3rd QB position....

And then there were 6---......Coach Rivera continues to be frustrated as Brandon Scherff and David Sharpe were added to the Covid list.....he said these players are missing camp, it's making it difficult to evaluate players and this really hurts the team, said what if this had been game day!  He said players need to educate themselves regarding the vaccines.....He said Wes Schweitzer will be moved to RG.....and Eric Flowers at LG....

With Andy Dalton as starting Bears QB and Justin Fields as backup....Nick Foles seems to be expendable.....Hmmmmm....I wonder if the Cowboys would be interested...he'd certainly would be better than what they have at backup to Dak right now....With his role as only the 3rd stringer with the Bears he might come cheap.....

Nick might not go to the Cowboys. The Eagles and Bears had a reported deal in place months ago and Nick said he wouldn't come back to Philly. The Eagles then moved on to Flacco. (Who might not make the 53 man roster.) Nick Mullens is outperforming Flacco so far by a large margin. There's been some talk of Philly moving a backup to the Colts, likely Flacco. The Eagles and Colts have similar offenses, so shuffling a backup to Indy makes sense if Wentz is out for long. The Colts did sign Brett Hundley though, so that could be dead now.

Fly!!! Eagles!!! Fly!!!
