Destroying statues is just stupid. Statues don't grow out of the ground. They're made by sculptors, real live honest to goodness artists. Destroying them is destroying works of art. Do we burn the Mona Lisa if we found out that daVinci said or did something wrong? People have lost their minds. It's not like people are praying to the statues and leaving offerings to them. Many of the statues are a century old or older and are historic. Destroying them serves no purpose.

" I can understand Native Americans not liking being represented by a team that plays like the Redskins have in recent years, but the team name hurts no one. "
LOL----👍👍👍😄😆🤣----thats the truth!!
I like and respect Tony Dungy too, but disagree with him this time....

I saw a Twitter post that said if the Redskins change their name now they might as well call themselves the Washington Sheep. It'll be interesting to see what, if any kind of name they can come up with that won't offend someone.
I'm not sure how sane the people in the league office are. They're now planning to play the Black National Anthem before the first games this year in addition to the regular National Anthem. Yeah, that won't go over well with a lot of the fans. Players standing for the Black National Anthem then kneeling for the regular one. They might want to hurry up and sign those new TV deals. I've got a feeling the TV ratings may drop off a teeny bit this year.
The NFLPA has now provided its preseason blueprint. They want three days of physicals, followed by a three-week strength and conditioning program, then ten days of noncontact, no pad workouts, then 10 days of traditional training camp type workouts with no more than 8 days in pads. Then the regular season would start with no preseason games at all. That would make the early season games "interesting." It would put the rookies and young players in a serious hole. It would be nearly impossible to win a job in that timeframe for the young kids.
The league still wants a "normal" training camp and two preseason games. They're going to have to find some middle ground between the two.

The Washington Lobbyists or Politicians?
I didn't know there was Black National Anthem. The song itself has been around awhile, but I never saw it listed anywhere as an anthem. Is is possible that it was just named the Black National Anthem because of the current situation? That it wasn't known by that name before?

The name Washington is on the list too, so its gonna be difficult to find a PC name, they cant tie Washington into a new name at all and I do NOT want anything in the slight way linking it back to politics (they can ALL go on that one way rocket to Mars)...... Snyder said he wanted something that would tie back to the team's long tradition....(good luck with that)......
Awhile back Snyder trademarked the name "warriors", but fans didnt like that because the NBA has team called the Warriors (and I dont like that NBA Warrior team either).....and then some mentioned and gave thoughts of going back to their previous name....the Braves, but the MLB has a team with that name....
There's also bizarre names that have been tossed around tying it to a tribe name---"Redtails" (insert your favorite joke here people will have fun with that )...Dwayne Haskins likes that one---SMH!!!..and some fans suggested Blackhawks---there's a hockey team with that name...and calling them Hawks wont that confuse people with the SeaHAWKS ?????? Some said just call the team "Skins" but some said it sounds like a porn name...LOL I dont think ANY name will satisfy the politically correct if they are trying to tie in the name with Native American theme somehow...
I also didnt know there was a Black National Anthem....so how is that bringing justice and equality to all (which I am all for BTW) by playing this, to me thats elevating a culture/race above all the others....Well Im gonna demand that they honor my maternal ancestry and play the Italian National Anthem (and heavens you dont want to mess with "the family" )....but I dont think anyone would like it if they honored my paternal ethnicity and played the Russian national anthem....LOL!!! This isn't about the injustice to Floyd and law enforcement reforms anymore, this is morphing into something else altogether....
Thanks for letting me vent....

You'd want a name that intimidated opponents. The DC Dragons? Maryland Marauders? (They play in Maryland and not DC.) What the heck goes with Washington? The Wizards already have that name. The Washington Warthogs? Their o-line used to call themselves the hogs. There's some logic to that. The Washington Wussies? (Not intimidating but perhaps fitting.) Hmm...what to name them?

Yep, with whats going on with the anthems, you bet the ratings will drop and the networks that paid that pretty price are going to be very upset....I bet they add a provision in the new contracts that will reimburse funds back to the networks if ratings fall because of all this extracurricular mess...
Money talks and Snyder succumbed because of loss of partner billions of dollars and he wants that new stadium and they keep holding that "carrot" over his head....no new name and no location will approve the new stadium in the MD/DC/VA area....
I feel so sorry for the rookies coming in this year, they arent going to get that fundamental training that so important in their first year no matter which plan the NFL goes with.....

If the league adopts the NFLPA schedule then it's good for the Eagles. An established head coach, QB, and few new players to slot into the lineup. It would be brutal for the Redskins and Giants with young QB's and new coaching staffs and systems. Teams with a lot of turn over this offseason would be in big trouble early on. Tough for the Cowboys also. We'll have to see what happens there.

There are some pretty funny suggestions floating around for a new Wash.name.
My vote would go to shortening the name to "Washington Skins" and the
helmet logo would be a potato skin. Gotta love peoples sense of
humor.
@teganslaw sorry I didn't reply to your post about Jaylon Smith.
If I'm correct, he played for Notre Dame. Didn't know he was a Indiana
boy before that. He put up one of his iCRYO places in Frisco, close
by the Texas Star. He's planning on putting up two more, another one
in Indiana and anojther in Texas. I like this guy a lot. He gives back
in many ways and making a good name for himself off field.
Must have had a good Indiana upbringing.
What to say about the NFL?? For me personally, I'm being driven
further and further away.
I think some people are looking for ways to be offended these day.
My big black dog named Reggie would probably offend some people,
and my response would be "His name would be Emmitt, but he was
already named when we adopted him."
Anyway, HAPPY JULY 4th everyone. Hope you all have a great day.

Yep, some fans suggested a long time ago to just change the helmet logo to a Red Skin Potato....end of controversey...LOL!!!
And here's the new mascot---
My cats are "Tuxedos" which havent made the offended list ....YET!!! 🐱
The media needs to highlight all the NFL "good guys" more instead of just the prima donnas and troublemakers....
