I remember him being so beautifully portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in Brian's Song

"If you want to see perfection as a running back, you best get ahold of a film of Gale Sayers. He was poetry in motion. His like will never be seen again." - George Halas

My love of football began with Gale Sayers ... my youngest son, who had to endure me wax nostalgic about Gale, painted his portrait for one of my birthdays ... I have it to this day.

There's never been better running back ... he was truly "poetry in motion."
