My late DH was a native Michigander and loved "my Lions" as he called them. I recall ages ago when they only won 1 game during the season but he supported them faithfully.

I was hoping they'd be in SB playoffs this year but it seems not. I haven't been following closely so could someone tell me when they fell out of contention?

Thank you!

they had a fabulous15-2 regular season. Beat Minnesota in the playoffs then got massively upset by the Washington Commanders last week. In detroit no less  We the lions faithful were in shock. Still are

@smoochy Thanks! I kept track of them 95% of the season and lost track. But what a great year for them.

My daughter and son in law were sad to see that happen.  Big fans they are.

Re: DETROIT LIIONS

[ Edited ]

I'm not an NFL fan, but was hoping to see them banish the bad times and was sorry to hear of their unlikely loss. Though I don't live there, the team, Detroit and Goff deserve a way long awaited championship. Sorry that several teams seeming to have great potential really seem to have fallen flat and others appear to be performing well above their pay grade. Personally, I prefer the college game. Though being diminished by increasing professionalization, I still prefer watching college sports.

Did you see this funny item from the Lions? They joked/replied to an article about a 33 lb 5 month old from Texas re future linebacker potential LOL

@Happy2BHere  I don't find that at all funny. I wonder if the child has some problem that causes him to be that weight at that age.   Exploiting a baby is wrong.

We are huge Lions fans.  We went failthfully to the Silverdome to watch them lose game after game.  This was during the Barry Sanders era.  That was the saving grace of spending the money on tickets and making the trek to the stadium.

My husband saw them in the playoffs in 1957 on a small black and white TV.  We were at a sports bar watching the loss to the Commanders last weekend.  Another white haired man came over to my husband and said, "so how long have you been waiting for a season like this?"

We have had many comments from nonLions fans tell us that if their team doesn't go to the Super Bowl, they are cheering for the Lions.  But alas, it isn't going to be this year.

We were walking our dog yesterday and the UPS driver honked up a storm and stopped to talk to us.  He said, "so how great is it to be a Lions fan this year? 15 -2 season"  We had a nice chat with the driver and found out he was from a town less than 30 miles from our home town and we are presently 1400 miles from there right now.

Before he drove off I asked him, so who are you rooting for now?  He had to think awhile and then said, "I have to go with Washington.  Daniels is going to be the next Mahomes."  We agreed and said that was who we are cheering on this weekend, too.

We hate to see the season end.

I'm for the Bills. Big fan of Josh Allen. Anyone but Mahomes and the Chiefs  where did you live in the Mitten? We lived in Kalamazoo before moving to Florida

@smoochy  Since we still go back, I would rather not give the location.  We did, however, have a home on Higgins Lake for many years.  It is a beautiful lake, clear to the bottom, but SO cold.
