I keep my shoes on shelves that are open and so far so good. In my bedroom I converted to a walk in closet I have those standing units that have 10 rows to put your shoes on, it can hold up to 50 pairs. I keep all my summer shoes in there. In my master bedroom I have solid metal shelves that are also open and that is where I have my winter shoes and boots. So that way they are not in shoe boxes where they do not get any air. Just a thought!

This happened to me only once, also with a pair of shoes purchased on Ebay. Supposedly new Trotters, on first wearing the 1" flat heels broke up into chunks of plastic. Fortunately, I was able to have new heels replaced. I concluded that the shoes, though beautiful, must have been old stock and the heels had turned brittle??? Once repaired they've been fine.

I thought I was the only one this happened to. I had a heel
start falling apart but thought it was the age of the shoes that caused it.👠🥿👡👞
