Sorry, you lost me at "needs to be a cross body". I don't use them so know nothing about them except that I don't like them and find them uncomfortable.

Thanks for all your replies.

First of all, I live in Manhattan, no Ross or Steinmart and TJ Maxx and Marshall's stores are basically pig sties.

I need a cross body handbag because I walk with a cane. Otherwise, I'm uncomfortable. As for Travelon, I can't find them here in Manhattan. No store carries them and I won't buy anything unless I've either seen it or owned it before.

The Tignanello bag I liked had 2 separate sections plus that organizer front with 2 pockets and credit card slots. It's no longer made. I need front pockets and 2 separate sections, medium sized at least 12 to 14 inches wide. Not built in wallet just lots of pockets and sections. And again, thanks for the suggestions.

Fran, it's going to be a challenge to suggest something if we're limited to something you've seen or owned before... I'd surely think that in Manhattan of all places there would be a slew of bags to meet your needs, though I do understand going out and searching is probably not easy for you. You might take a look at ebags to see if anything there looks like it might be workable. They have a large supply of different kinds of bags and you can sort them many different ways. If anything looks workable, you can then do a search to check local options. Good luck!

Franinnyc, Boscov's has many, many Tignanello bags. Check out their website to see if there is something that will suitable for your needs. Good luck.

Fran, you might want to check out the Baggallini Triple Zip Bagg:

Removable, adjustable strap for wallet, waist, or cross-body functionality

loops on back allow for wearing on belt

Four secure, zippered compartments

Interior credit card slots and lipstick holder

Lightweight, water-resistant nylon

8" w x 6" h x 2" d 8 oz.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

Stevieb,

Thanks for your suggestions. But we here in Manhattan do not have as many shopping options as you might think. We have high end or low end and nothing in between. And Macy's and Lord and Taylor have gone upscale and expensive. The low end stores are a waste of time. I've checked Amazon and ebags and a hundred other sites, including ebay. Either I'm too fussy or there's nothing out there for me.

But I'll keep on trying and to Sylanne, thanks for the Boscov's tip.

Lately I am loving Kipling as I no longer want to carry heavy leather bags. Macy's has some good sales now. Also check Kipling's website. HTH!

You didn't respond to my suggestion re Kipling bags. Did you check them out?

I live near NYC and go there often. The TJ Maxx and Marshall's stores on 6th Avenue and 18th Street are NOT pig sties. The bags are neatly hung and arranged according to color. They carry Baggallini bags at great prices.

Did it look like this? I have two of these (one white and one black) and I love them!

I got this Vera microfiber bag in black. It's medium sized, lightweight, cross body and has front and back slip pockets.
