@Imaoldhippie

Farmers Almanac says the winter outlook for OH and WV is "cold, wet, and white".

My approach is to stock my house well with food and enjoy as many days at home in my pajamas as possible!!

I am well prepared. I have Franco sarto waterproof snow boots & also a pair of cold weather boots. I also have a pair of snow boots from Canada, wool sneakers and a pair of original high Uggs.

I have a wardrobe of Sorel boots of all variations and jackets and gear from Patagonia., North Face, and Colombia Sportswear.    One of the best winter parka jackets for really big snow / wind was from Land's End and I have kept them for years.   The quality of their winter goods has substantially declined since I bought my heavy parkas a decade ago.

I may be alone in this but I am so sick of boots that can double as combat boots! I want a boot with a kitten heel height, enough tread to stop slipping, but feminine.NO LUG SOLES! I AM NOT CLIMBING MOUNTAINS. I WANT TO DRESS & TO LOOK LIKE A FEMININE WOMAN. THESE DESIGNERS ARE TRYING TO BE "HIP". OR MAYBE CATER TO GAY WOMEN. I DO NOT KNOW, NOR DO I CARE. I KNOW I AM TAKING MY BUSINESS TO OTHER VENDORS AS QVC HAS MISSED THE MARK FOR MARKETING TO MY DEMOGRAPHIC! I FEAR THEY WILL NOT PIVOT AND JUST FOLD THEIR BUSINESS.  THAT WILL BE A SHAME AND A LOSS FOR VENDORS, CUSTOMERS, PRESENTORS, MODELS.... EVERYONE. JUST BECAUSE OF SOME STUBBORN ATTITUDES ABOUT CHANGING THE WORLD.  THE BOOTS STYLING ARE JUST AN EXAMPLE OF EMPOSING CHANGE ON WOMEN. I AM VOTING WITH MY DOLLARS AND WALKING AWAY IN MY OLD BOOTS! I WILL SEEK VENDORS WHO HAVE THEIR HEADS SCREWED ON STRAIGHT .. YOU KNOW ABOUT MAKING SALES AND REPEAT CUSTOMERS.

There are many different types of boots that are worn in winter and there is no need to disparage someone because the need a secure tread, or a lace-up waterproof boot or enjoy a different fashion.

I think QVC or HSB would be able to show some boots that you describe.

Personally, I need the waterproof, lug sole, hiking type boots for wintery days getting across the parking lot to work, or having secure footing inside when the floors get slippery.   Also for taking the dog out for a walk, negotiating grocery store parking lots, and shoveling show.

I think they are reacting to demand and what will sell.

We get winter here and snow and slush.   I exclusively wear only boots in the winter.    lug soles, lace up timberlands and bearpaw boots.  Years ago when I worked in an office I wore fashion boots.   I have one pair of black leather heeled fashion boots, if the need arises for a dressy outfit,

I love winter boots - We get very little, if any, snow in my neck of the woods, so mine are "fashion boots"

I do own one pair of "Wellies" for rain and snow, however. Smiley Wink

Soreal: Favorite brand. Love their hiking waterproof boots.
