They've been cheaply made for several years. I will never buy another Tig. I bought one a couple years ago, paid a lot for it, and the cheap trim peeled off.

Yep, just like D&B, Coach & other brands they were once quality bags. When Kathy Van Zeeland bought them is when they went downhill fast. If I want a cheap bag I'll pay a cheap price.

I purchased a leather Fossil bag and it is beautiful leather. Well made and a bargain on sale for $120.00. That is a darn good price for a leather bag these days. They charge a fortune for the vegan leather, that makes me sick.

I am not a leather snob so it does not bother me that the bottom and straps are vinyl but it does bother me quite a lot that they charge the price a 100% leather purse costs for a not 100% leather purse. I occasionally buy one at TJ Maxx for half price - but don't even watch on QVC anymore.
I am actually having difficulty with finding purses I like right now - I don't carry large , heavy bags and tiny bags are too small , and too big or too small seem to be all that is out there right now. So this fall & winter I will be shopping my closet using purses I already own in medium size.
This spring I found a purse at a little boutique in Venice Fl and fell in love - I have carried nothing else since April. Very unusual for me to carry the same purse for months.

They all look alike to me. Not crazy about them...

Tig has really cheapened up their bags and it's a shame .... they used to be known for their all leather bags.
They made a HUGE mistake when they added plastic to their purses!

I see Tig bags often at discount stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's and the prices are quite a bit less than they're sold for here... Like BMak, the brand doesn't seem to be widely sold any more, probably based on demand...

Tignanello as well as B. Makowsky and Kathy Van Zeeland handbags are all owned by Li & Fung. I've seen Tig bags at Winners in Canada and also at Hudson's Bay. When these bags used to be at Winners only the hang tags with Canadian prices on them were so inflated as no other stores at that time carried them. They were priced much higher than in the U.S. at one point. I would not buy this line of handbags due to all the fake leather trim.
Try googling info about them, here is a Forbes article about them:

Here is a 2008 Forbes article about the acquisition:

The pleather trim thing has been going on for years with Tig. I remember writing Lisa about it, and it has to have been 2-3 years ago, if not more. - Bird
