Tig is now coping D&B style bags. It makes sense on the price if they were bought out by B Mack. No more Tig for me!

Tig shot themselves in the foot when they cheapened their bags with up to 50% PLASTIC. Shame on them!

They weren't bought out by BMak... At one time KVZ supposedly owned her eponymous brand, BMak and Tig and sold them all to a Chinese conglomerate which I believe now owns all three brands. I've never been a big fan of any of them, but it appears the Tig brand has been somewhat cheapened to seemingly fill the niche it always did as well as the niche formerly filled by KVZ since her brand was largely defunct for quite a while. I see Tig trying to give their bags a bit more style than they historically had, but unfortunately, it appears quality has been traded in the process. I bought my last Tig bag over a year ago and never used it and now don't even look at them when considering a handbag purchase. I also don't consider either BMak or certainly KVZ.

I think D&B is also going to fake leather straps. It makes no sense to me, as the strap is what gets most of the wear.
I found a beautiful Tig at the thrift the other day, got up to the register and noticed that the fake leather was peeling off under the shoulder strap. Uh uh, no way...I put it back.
Be sure to check the interior tag on newer relatively high end bags--it will often say '80% leather, 20% man made materials' or something like that. I love my vintage bags, they were made to last!

There are NO D&B"s that have "fake" straps (unless you are counting their PVC lunch totes") Even the coated cotton and PVC bags have full leather handles.

This is not true.

"Man-made materials" include all the metal findings ... buckles, trim, zippers ... as well as linings. They are not leather, thus they are "man-made." I have half-a-dozen or more Tig bags - some new, some old - and there is not one bit of faux leather on any of them.
On another note, and in reply to some folks who think Saffiano leather is plastic or cheap man-made product, it is not. Saffiano refers to the process of tanning and finishing. The leather is a very sturdy yet soft lamb leather which has it's signature "cross-hatching" applied to it. It's then glazed which makes it stronger and more scratch resistant. Several of the Tig Saffiano bags are very similar in design to Prada and Coach bags which cost way, way more.
FWIW

I was a real fan but they have priced themselves out of my range.

The last Tig handbag I bought a couple of years ago was the last. The PVC smell was overpowering and just wouldn't go away even after exposing it to air and direct sunlight as recommended by a shoe repair shop owner.
It went back. Never again.
