Just a fun poll. I have a small cosmetic bag in my purse that I keep all the small stuff in becauise I don't like having things rolling around in the bottom of a purse. I have a plastic container that holds band aids - a spare pair of readers in a small case - a tide stain stick -a tiny container of hand sanitizer - an alka seltzer - crucifix -nail file - toilet seat covers folded up in a holder (these are a give away where I get my mammo each year) - and a swiss army knife.

My cosmetics bag is pretty small, too. Let me see what is in it...

folding mirror/brush compact, crystal nail file, nail clippers, contact case, tweezers, 3 lipsticks - Bite Beauty BB for Lips in Suede, SKINN Lipstick/Gloss duo in Antique Pink, and bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Big Spender (pale peach).

I usually have a Burt's Bees gloss in my bag, too, but it must have fallen out at home. Not a shimmer though. I think the color is Raison.

Mac mirror, nail file, hair tie, dental pick, DermStore lip quench and loreal color riche lip balm.

Lipstick - kept in the cellphone slit on the bag's back. Mascara and brow pencil with file and comb in the zippered section along with car registration and insurance cards in clear plastic sleeves.

Dermstore Lip Quench, Hard Candy Glamouflage concealer, whatever eyeliner I'm using that day (right now it's Jordana 12 hr Made to Last gel pencil in whatever the dark purple color is called), Rimmel eyeliner pencil in nude, an eyeliner smudger, a Sonia Kashuk eyelash curler, and usually a few lipsticks and glosses (right now I have Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Liar, MAC lipstick in Spirit, Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Pillow Talk, and NYC liquid lipshine in Brighton Beach Peach). I carry a powder compact separately.

Yeah, it's kind of a lot, but I have a great Trina Turk make-up bag with 3 sections that is actually quite compact.

wet wipes, band aids, baby screwdrivers, tiny toothbrush/paste, TIDE stain stick, VISINE eyedrops, meds, BLISTEX, chapstick, lip gloss, VASELINE, safety pins, paper clips, hair tie, powder, spare earrings, hand creme, eye pencil (which doubles as an eyeshadow when lended), nail file, tiny perfume sample, and FINALLY, that's it! As far as my handbag goes - a wallet, readers, sunglasses, address book, day planner, KLEENEX, mints and gum, ALTOIDS, phone/tablet charger, cell phone, New Testament, medical emrgency information, cell phone and, tiny notebook for whatever.

I also carry a narrow makeup bag as I don't want makeup staining the inside of my handbag. I have a lipstick, concealer, small brow pencil, small bottle of advil, a few toothpicks, breath spray, oil blotting sheets, nail file, and face powder in my makeup bag.
