WIdth Sizing On Birkenstock Changes?

I decided to go back to Birkenstock Arizona for a change from my Vionic Tides for a while. I  can't seem to find too many in regular width, just narrow in EU size 41. The regular width always fit me well. In fact, I found a 10.5 medium size on a site, and it was changed to 41 EU NARROW in my cart. Glad I caught it . I have a gift certificate I want to use on line, or would just go to store.  Does anyone know if Birkenstock is making just narrow for women's sizes now? It seems like at least 80% of their shoes I find on line are narrow all of a sudden. Thanks for any information! Susi.

Re: WIdth Sizing On Birkenstock Changes?

I haven't had any trouble finding the M width in any of their styles.  I shop Amazon, the Walking Company, and a couple of local stores here in Colorado.  I tryed a pair of Vionics and went back to my Birks.  The Vionics just caused me foot, leg, and back pain.  Not for me.

Re: WIdth Sizing On Birkenstock Changes?

Maybe because I wear a large size , they are more limited in the newer colors, and snake prints etc.  Everytime I find one I like , just narrow sizes. I read here somewhere that Birkenstock is going back to mostly their neutral standard colors. Thought maybe they were trimming sizes as well . I just wrote to their customer service , and will post any interesting changes. I still love my Vionics as have history of plantar fasciitis, but am only comfortable in Tides and my toes are starting to bother now from all the pressure of the thong. Thanks for responding!

Re: WIdth Sizing On Birkenstock Changes?

I have also been looking online at Birkenstock Arizona models. I wear a EU40 / US 9.

Which vendor do you have a storecredit with ?

I found a lot of the special design / upper material choices were only available in narrow.

Full price seemed to be available in regular, narrow, wide and soft in various colors.

I checked the Birkenstock website as well as Nordstrom's and Zappo's.

Soft only comes in regular, which is what I prefer.

Good luck!

Re: WIdth Sizing On Birkenstock Changes?

I have noticed that the fun colored Birko flor isn't being made in my size any longer. I'm the smallest adult size 36N and used to be able to find great deals when all the other sizes sold out (like most of the Lunch time specials are XxS) but the company wised up and just stopped making my size in the seasonal editions. So I am not buying.😕 I miss the fun styles.

I have a gift card from exchange at Amazon, so have been looking there. Wonder why the vender listed size 10.5 medium and then switch it to 41n  in cart?! Very strange.  You have to be careful everywhere... another site had a lower price on line, I put it in cart, and price was twenty dollars higher. Went back to site and it was lower. I skipped that purchase. That was for a purse.

Hi, @Susic.

They have several different brands:  Birkenstock, Papillio, Birki's, Tatami, AlPro,

and Footprints.

So it's good to check all of them for your preferences.

Also, take any adjustable straps into account - that could make B's "narrow" more comfortable for you.

The "Arizona" style in a regular-width size 41 is available under Papillio as well.

And Papillio is the more '"feminine" division of Birkenstock, so you'll see more colors and prints.

You can find them on Amazon, Ebay, Zappos, and 6pm.com (Zappos' offshoot).

Google for other online and B&M vendors.

P.S.:  I wear a size 40 in Birkenstocks.

@IMissSuperPoke with the cute kitty paw - sized feet Woman Wink...

There are lots of 36 Narrows available at Amazon and Ebay, for example.

Assuming a manufacturer has definitely stopped making something can't be proven until all possibilities have been exhausted.

Google is our friend.  8)

Re: WIdth Sizing On Birkenstock Changes?

In QVC's Birkies I was a 36N. (they had that foot on the inner sole to indicate the width) The conversion chart said it was equivalent to US 5.5M-6M (I was actually a 6M-6.5M in RL)  HSN's Betulas converted a 6M-6.5M to 37. (they were huge)

QVC's Birkenstock sizing was different than any other I've ever encountered. I haven't bought Birkenstock in about 10 years so cannot comment on the sizing now.  Mephistos has similar styles (to old Birkis) and I wear 37.  I wear 37 in pretty much all European sized shoes.
