Re: WHERE IS BRUCE MAKOWSKY?

He went to electronics, That was where he was allegedly sued (2014). He was supposed to split the revenue 50/50 with his partner. It was the product that was sold on the Q.

Re: WHERE IS BRUCE MAKOWSKY?

He must still be designing bags since on Super Saturday they are selling one of his bags and it's listed as S8007.

Re: WHERE IS BRUCE MAKOWSKY?

If he had a bag on Super Saturday it was old. I also had a defective peeling straps bag years ago. I loved that thing and carried it until I was ashamed to be seen with it. What do I have to lose?, I thought, and sent it back to QVC. They refunded me. Since then I have bought a few more bags, all fine. But that line just over saturated the QVC and all other markets.

Re: WHERE IS BRUCE MAKOWSKY?

He sold his Beverly Hills "spec" house for $70 million.  Bruce and Kathy sold their own Beverly Hills home for $10.4 million.  Looks as though he has traded handbags for high-end homes to flip and sell.

Re: WHERE IS BRUCE MAKOWSKY?

As others mentioned, he and Kathy sold their handbag companies to some Chinese corporation.

As far as the quality of his bags...I've had nothing but great luck with his bags. The leather was thick and scrumptious. The hardware was beautiful (but heavy). The zippers WORKED flawlessly. I have about 10 of his bags and never had the color transference problems or the fraying strap issues that many have posted about.

Now most of the current vendors will glue thin leather to cardboard (almost like a leather veneer) to create their leather bags. Most use cheap zippers that stick. And a few use "pleather" for straps and trim. And the prices for these "quality" bags is nuts. So I miss Bruce and his bags.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

Re: WHERE IS BRUCE MAKOWSKY?

I had bad luck with his bags and although really cute and nice to look at the plastic lining on any strap I had cracked - there was transferring of color and I can go on. Maybe 2 out of the 6 I bought worked out. TRASH!!!

I am happy he is no longer on...I personally did not care for his style and mannerisms...he seemed self absorbed...something I can't pinpoint about him I disliked... also in my opinion on air he seemed to me distacted/hurried like his bags were not 1st on his list.. Seems I was kinda right.

BUT

Man he is wealthy!!!!!

Re: WHERE IS BRUCE MAKOWSKY?

I had good luck with his bags.  They were nice.  I still own them, but have moved on.  He always featured great hardward and good leather which made the bags heavy.  There was an article in Wall Street Journal. Both he and Kathy Van Zeeland sold their company to an overseas company for a great deal of money.  They have retired from handbag business and are speculating in Los Angeles area pricey real estate.

Re: WHERE IS BRUCE MAKOWSKY?

Kathy was selling her bags this year on Shops.  I saw several shows but never her always a rep.  Same type of bags (with all the too much bling) about the same price.  It has been awhile since I have seen any new bags on there network for her.
