I've wondered about the leather bags with a snake pattern. One was even called ""brown snake."" Presumably it's not real snake skin. Do they print a snake pattern on cow skin / leather? How does the print stand up to wear?

I have not found one vinyl bag that really looks like leather. I would buy it, if I could find it.

I have leather handbags and they last forever! I either purchase all leather handbags or I will purchase the Travelon's for travelling and shopping when the stores are crowded for protection and function. I LOVE my Dooney's!

Leather. I don't like vinyl at all. I do have a crossbody nylon bag I use for travel that I like.

Believe it or not, I've actually found a very few bags that I absolutely cannot tell whether they are leather or vinyl because they look and feel like leather but the price just doesn't compute... It's not one particular brand, but every once in a while someone does actually come up with a truly leather like vinyl.
