I am looking at buying one of these Vera Bradley Double Zip Backpacks for going out with my children on the weekends mainly. I intend to use it as a purse and be hands-free. It will carry my usual purse items and my camera plus sometimes, a paperback book and/or my iPad (full-size).
Does anybody have any experience using one in this manner? I want comfort (my back/shoulders hurt from hauling a heavy tote through zoos, museums, parks, etc.), hands-free usage and reliability. I read in a couple of online reviews that people had problems with the straps coming apart. I really do not want to re-sew a backpack. I have several other VB purses and totes and accessories and I have never had a problem with the stitching.
I have carried many crossbody purses and sometimes, one shoulder/neck area gets sore. I figure that it's time to give a backpack a try.
Any input?
P.S. If you know of another similar size backpack style purse (Vera Bradley or NOT), please suggest it. THANKS!!!!!!!
NOTE: Yes. I did post this in three locations, in hopes of getting more information.
