Upcoming Alegria TSV Review

[ Edited ]

I got the TSV for June 23rd, today in the teal, which is made to look like hand tooling on a Western saddle.  I like the texture but the color is very green, almost a forest green.

The shoe has a covered vamp which come to just above the base of the toes and a narrow ankle strap which make it the Mary Jane style.  I have bad pronation in one foot so my toes lean in while my heel swings out.  I think this shoe, with its narrow strap, is not going to hold my foot on the shoe bed.  I have not had this problem in other Alegria styles.

They will be available in wide for the first time.

It runs true to size...just go by the chart.  There is lots of room in the toe box, and the insole is very comfortable.  This is a great shoe with good coverage for fall but can be worn now too.

Re: Upcoming Alegria TSV Review

Thanks for this review!  I was interested in this TSV because I like a shoe that has a bottom that propels one forward.  The shape of the bottom seems to make a fast and fun walking shoe.  What do you think of the walking experience with this shoe?  QVC has blocked any ability to see this shoe at the moment even though blue skies for me links to the item number.  Do you know if they have wide widths?  Do they use foreign sizing?  I take an 8-1/2 and don't know what to think about these foreign sizes that claim a shoe fits an 8-1/2 and an 8.  This does not make sense to me.  Did you get a half size and did it fit?

I would appreciate any info you have about this.

@Ms X  For the first time QVC will have Alegrias in wide widths.  I have about 2 dozen pairs of Alegria shoes and find them extremely comfortable.  They do use Euro sizing, although I know not why since it's a California company.  I wear a size 11 and always order a size 42, and they always fit beautifully.  Just go by the chart.

Re: Upcoming Alegria TSV Review

Thank you so much!  I was just now at blue skies for me trying to get a look at these again.  No luck.  I'm concerned about the half-size dilemma.  I don't fit in an 8 and don't understand why an 8-1/2 would fit in a shoe that also fits an 8.  I just don't know what to do.  If they want to sell here, they should make American sizes so that we can be sure they will fit us.  HSN will do an exchange if the size is wrong at no charge, but QVC will not.  At any rate, I very much appreciate your info.  I just LOVE shoes with the shape of this sole.  I'm not a Birkenstock person, as their sole seems to be designed for walking slowly.  Allegria seems to facilitate speed and ease with the shape of the sole.  I guess I'll have to check it out on the day of the TSV.  Thanks again!

@Ms X  In a closed toe shoe, I'd go up 1/2 size, in an open toe sandal I'd go down.  You sure don't want your toes hitting the end of the shoe.  There is just a fraction of an inch difference in sizes.

I definitely want at least one pair of these (the floral for sure), but might get another pair too.  Alegria's are my favorite shoes these days.  I don't like the price when buying a few pr. at a time, but I sure love the shoes and sandals that I own and find them to be very comfortable.  It's the brand I wear most of the time.  I bought three pair of the sandal TSV they had a few months ago (would have liked 4, but I was trying to contain myself) and  a few from last year's TSV.  I wanted to order the new ones during the advanced sale period, but forgot to do it before leaving for vacation.  The link isn't good anymore - says "sold out" - so now I'll have to wait until the show up on air.

Thanks so much!  I'm concerned about getting the next size up, as I would never fit into a 9-1/2 shoe.  This is the problem with these foreign sizing scales.  We don't have experience with them that would help us to pick the right size.  This business about one shoe fitting two sizes is very troubling.  If they're going to sell in the USA, they should use American sizing.  I usually don't buy if they don't.  It seems that I have the same questions about going a size up as buying the size recommended by their conversion chart.  Maybe I'll just forget about this line if they can't sell using a size scale I understand.

Re: Upcoming Alegria TSV Review

Thank you @Kachina624 for giving a detailed review. Months ago I bought the Fiona in the floral, my first pair. I absolutely love them. Anyways, since apparently QVC has sold their quote for their pre sale, I'll order mine in the floral as soon as the email comes, 2-3 days before the 23rd. It should work out time wise so I can bring them to wear during our trip Kansas City the end of the month❤️.
