Looking for advice on tall boot to wear over leggings. Tried Koolaburra in short style but suede very stiff and too hard and inflexible on bottom. Tried Elle Tall in Bearpaw but shaft so wide that looks very clunky on me, like a moon boot. Also my foot slid forward because heel is wide on me. How does genuine UGG boot fit? True to size, does it stretch out?  Easy to step into?  Sole cushiony and flexible?  Somewhat water resistant?  They are pricey, so just wondering if they're worth twice the cost of the other two brands or if I should just stop looking at that style altogether.

I wear Ugg boots as my slippers around the house in winter. They fit true to size and don't stretch out. Mine are easy to step into. I can't attest to water resistance as I don't have to deal with snow much less rain. I don't wear them outside unless I'm walking down the street to get the mail. I get mine at Nordstrom Rack sometimes because they are usually cheaper.

I do think UGGs are worth it! I tried Bearpaw once and quickly returned them as I felt they were nowhere near the quality as UGGs. But then I haven't bought a pair in a while and who's to say even the quality of UGGs hasn't taken a dive much like everything else.

As far as stretching, I do like my boots and shoes to fit snugly. I buy UGG Sherpa inserts for those boots that don't hug my feet the way I like. They act as if slipping into a brand new pair!

Love my Ugg boots, warm, comfortable, and if treated, water resist.  All I wear and have short and regular heights. IMHO you can't beat the real thing.

Re: UGG/Koolaburra/Bearpaw?

[ Edited ]

I have worn UGG boots for many years.  For me, in the traditional UGG boot, I always go down a whole size.  I do not wear socks with them and the wool lining relaxes after a few wears so there's a lot of extra room in the boot.  In some of the other styles, I wear my normal size but for some reason, the original boot is cut larger.  I think at one time they did suggest sizing down in that boot.

Nothing like an UGG...any others I have had fell apart.  To me, they are worth it.  Try and catch a sale, that's when I grab mine. Enjoy 😉

I like Bearpaw b/c the suede is permanently treated to be waterproof, the lining of the shafts are real wool and the removable insole is genuine sheepskin which can be replaced or removed for an orthotic. The outsoles tend to be stiff when they are brand new but what I do is take them and bend them in half several times using my hands to get them to flex a bit easier. I usually do that with most all of my boots to get the outsoles to bend easier.

@SilleeMee just so you know, not all BP's have removable insoles.  I have at least one pair that do not. I haven't brought the others down yet, so not sure about them.

I LOVE uggs I own several pairs
I also have two pair of genuine leather motorcycle uggs black and brown I’ve had for several years now they are soft as butter and still look brand new
I get compliments on those all winter we do treat those every year with leather cleaner and conditioner
If you live near an outlet mall there’s Ugg outlets that have great deals also
I haven’t been to one in several years but my daughter recently bought a cute pair to house shoes at the one in our town

i have recently, bought bearpaw, from hsn. they were offered in wides and they fit great. they don't have enough of an arch support, so i had to add one.(sole did come out) i got a slide/clog style that i'm using as a slipper but ok to wear outside, if needed.

I prefer UGG and have several pairs of the short boots that I have purchased over the years, I only wear them maybe 3 months out of the year, I quit buying them and wear the same one's each year it doesn't really get too cold in L.A. plus they are pricey.
