Trade-In questions

I never knew about the ability to trade in bags until I found out from you wonderful ladies. So, I have a couple of bags I'd like to send in, but have a couple of questions...

1. Can the credit be used towards the purchase of a new accessory (say, a wallet), or do you HAVE to use it on a new bag?

2. Say you use it on a bag but then don't like the bag when you get it and end up sending it back. Do you lose the credit at that point or do they keep it on your account for a future purchase? If they keep it on your account, does it have to be used up within a certain time period?
